M3 MacBook Air 13-inch Available for Purchase in Nepal

Apple refreshed the 13-inch MacBook Air with M3 processors and made them available globally on March 8, 2024. The laptop is now available for purchase in Nepal.

Compared to its previous iteration, the M2 MacBook Air, not much has changed design-wise. It retains the same set of ports, the same keyboard layout, and the same Liquid Retina display.

Under the hood too, the most prominent change is the new M3 processor that bumps up the performance of the laptop. Besides that, nothing much has changed in the MacBook Air 13-inch M3.

Apple MacBook Air 13-inch M3 Overview

Design

The M3 variant of the MacBook Air maintains the tried and tested flat design of its predecessor, the M2 MacBook Air. The laptop is encased in an aluminum chassis from top to bottom.

The Apple logo is displayed prominently on the lid. On the left side, there are two Thunderbolt 4 ports and the MagSafe connector. On the right side, you’ll find the 3.5mm headphone jack. The M3 MacBook Air 13-inch also comes with a backlit keyboard that uses Touch ID as biometric authentication.

The underside of the laptop features four rubber feet. The MacBook Air 13″ M3’s design remains clean, free of visible vents or grilles. It is available in four color options: silver, starlight, space gray, and midnight.

Display

The MacBook Air 13-inch M3 features a 13.6-inch IPS LCD display that Apple calls its Liquid Retina display. It has a resolution of 2560 x 1664 pixels and can reach peak brightness of 500nits with support for Apple’s True tone technology.

The display has an edge-to-edge design and comes with thin bezels when compared to other laptops. There is one notch on the top-center of the display that houses the 1080p webcam.

Hardware

The most significant change in this new MacBook Air is the addition of Apple’s new M3 Processor. The new processor, as per Apple’s claims, is capable of performing hardware-accelerated mesh shading and ray tracing, alongside optimized video streaming and playback efficiency with an AV1 decode engine. The processor comes with 4x performance and 4x efficiency cores.

Alongside the CPU, the GPU of the MacBook Air also increases the effective usage of the laptop. The GPU comes in either 8 or 10-core configuration and can now run graphics-heavy processes like games, and photo/video editing tasks faster when compared to its predecessor.

Also, the laptop can now connect to up to two 6K external displays when the lid is closed. If the lid is open, the laptop will project to only one display. The laptop now supports Wi-Fi 6E.

Memory-wise, the base model variant of the laptop comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of non-upgradable memory. The MacBook Air 13-inch with M3 processor can be customized for up to 24GB of RAM and 2TB of storage configuration.

Here in Nepal, customers will be getting the 8/256GB, 8/512GB, and the 16/512GB variants only.

Battery

For power, the MacBook Air 13-inch M3 comes with a 52.6Wh Li-Po battery. Apple claims the battery can provide up to 18 hours of movie playback and up to 15 hours of wireless web browsing.

The battery is charged through Apple’s proprietary MagSafe connector that can charge the battery with either 30W or 35W normally. For higher configuration models, the laptop also supports 70W fast charging.

The M3 MacBook Air 13-inch price in Nepal is Rs. 1,84,900 (8/256GB), Rs. 2,18,000 (8/512GB), and Rs. 2,49,000 (16/512GB). You can purchase the device through authorized retailers like Evostore or Oliz Store in Nepal.

The new MacBook Air 13-inch M3 comes with iterative upgrades compared to its M2 predecessor. The most significant are the upgraded M3 processor, support for Wi-Fi 6E, multi-display connectivity, and fingerprint-resistant coating on the chassis.
