Leapmotor T03 has been launched in Nepal.

Shangrila Motors, the authorized distributor of Leapmotor EVs in Nepal, has introduced the all-new Leapmotor T03 in the Nepali market.

Leapmotor is a Chinese automobile manufacturer specializing in developing electric vehicles since its foundation in 2019.

It is one of the popular EV brands in China, collaborating with Stellantis (an Italian-American auto manufacturer) to make its presence in the international market.

Leapmotor has already made its debut with the C10 which is an electric SUV and the T03 is the second vehicle under their belt for Nepal.

T03 is a mini hatchback perfect for maneuvering through narrow streets. It is small car packed with a punchy powertrain and big safety features.

Leapmotor T03 Overview

Design

Leapmotor T03 is a compact mini hatchback.

Based on the Leapmotor BEV Platform, it is designed for city commutes and enhanced rideability on narrow streets.

The front section sports Eye-Shaped LED Headlamps with DRLs and LED Indicators. Interestingly, the grille slot in combination with the headlamp housing helps create a friendly face aesthetics.

The bonnet area is small with few converging creases. Moreover, the Charging Port has been placed at the center with Leapmotor Logo branding right above it.

It gets body-colored bumpers for most parts with minimal Black Cladding going all around the vehicle.

The side section still holds the compact styling with a noticeable crease line over the door handles

Interestingly, the rear portion also has an interesting styling element.

It comes with Dotted LED Side Indicators and Semi-Circular Tail Lights. However, the overall creasing and styling do add a level of complexity, creating a polarizing look.

Unfortunately, the interior is bombarded with hard plastics to keep costs down.

The overall interior layout looks very basic. The cost-cutting is very noticeable with the small 8-inch Digital Infotainment System, Four AC Vents, and minimal styling. It comes with a 10.1-inch Central Touch Screen where most of the controls for vehicle can be found.

Surprisingly, T03 features a segment-first Sunroof with Motor-controlled Sun Blinds! This is a very rare feature typically not available in this price range.

Despite the compact interiors, there is good enough space for the leg and headroom.

Additionally, Leapmotor T03 comes in White, Blue, Green, Silver and Grey.

Performance

It is powered by a 70 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor which generates a max power of 95 PS and a max torque of 158 Nm.

The 37.3 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate battery pack powers the Leapmotor T03, offering a WLTP range of 265 km under combined driving conditions, including both urban and non-urban scenarios. However, when tested exclusively under WLTP urban conditions, the range increases to an impressive 395 km.

Furthermore, it can be charged from 0 to 100% in around 6 hours with its onboard 6.6 kW AC Charger.

But under fast charging conditions, it can be charged from 10% to 80% in 36 minutes. 

It has 3 driving modes and it claims a top speed of 130 kmph while the acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h is 12.7 seconds.

Additional Details

McPherson Independent Suspension and Torsion Beam Non-Independent Suspensions handle suspension duties.

The dimensions are 3620 mm in length, 1652 mm in width, and 1592 mm in height. Moreover, the wheelbase is 2400 mm.

Leapmotor T03 gets a 160 mm ground clearance. And, the kerb weight is 1175 Kg.

It offers a 210-liter boot space, which is further expandable up to 880-liters by folding the rear seats.
