Shangrila Motors, the authorized distributor of Leapmotor electric vehicles in Nepal, is preparing to expand its lineup with a new C-segment electric SUV.

The Leapmotor B10 will serve as a more affordable iteration of the C10, but it will be based on the newer Leapmotor 3.5 Platform rather than the 3.0 Platform used in the C10.

This latest platform offers support for 800V high-voltage systems, cell-to-chassis (CTC) integration, a highly efficient 27-in-1 thermal management system, built-in AI capabilities, and cutting-edge intelligent driving technologies.

Leapmotor made a strong debut with the B10, securing over 10,000 orders within just an hour of its launch.

Established in 2015, the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer gained significant traction after Stellantis acquired a 21% stake in the company in 2023. Since then, Leapmotor has sustained its growth momentum.

Amid fierce competition among China’s EV startups, the company has emerged as a clear front-runner, topping net EV sales for two consecutive months and delivering over 40,000 vehicles in April 2025 alone.

With this latest launch, Leapmotor Nepal’s lineup aims to comprehensively address the diverse needs of the Nepali market—offering an affordable hatchback (T03), a mid-size SUV (B10), and an executive SUV (C10).

Now, let’s take a quick look at the Leapmotor B10 in Nepal along with its key specifications.

Leapmotor B10 Overview

Design

The Leapmotor B10 features ‘Gravity Field design’, which is trademark design language of Leapmotor.

The front design of the B10 bears a strong resemblance to the C10, but it quickly distinguishes itself with a unique lighting setup.

Unlike the C10, which features a single-bar design integrating both headlamps and DRLs, the B10 positions its Projector Headlamps lower on either side of the lower grille.

Complementing this is a striking Trio of LED DRL strips that deliver a distinctive on-road signature. The front also features prominent air intakes designed to help cool the underbody battery pack.

From the side, the B10 embraces a clean and minimalistic profile, though it doesn’t push any design boundaries. Despite having a shorter wheelbase compared to the C10, it still makes a confident visual impression, supported by its stylish 18-inch Alloy Wheels.

Overall, the B10 carries forward the design philosophy introduced by the larger C10 but adapts it into a more compact and utility-oriented form.

The connection between the two becomes most apparent at the rear, where the B10 showcases a continuous Full-Width LED light bar, much like the one on the C10. However, Leapmotor has made some cost-saving choices in this area. While the rear glass includes defrosting copper lines, it omits a rear wiper.

Inside the cabin, the B10 delivers a tech-forward yet minimalist atmosphere.

The B10 features a 14.6-inch floating touchscreen that manages most functions, reflecting common Chinese EV design.

All B10 variants run on the Leapmotor OS 4.0 Plus. However, the 510 Joy and 510 Comfort variants feature the Snapdragon 8155 chip for their OS, while the 600 Joy steps up with the flagship Snapdragon 8295A chip.

The B10 includes a two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel paired with a compact yet customizable 8.8-inch digital cluster. Soft-touch materials, leatherette upholstery, and metallic air vents elevate the cabin’s premium feel.

One of the standout features is the mounting point located in front of the passenger seat, which allows for accessory installation without sacrificing glovebox space.

The B10 also offers a customizable ambient lighting system with 256 color options, which pairs with the 12-Speaker audio system. Furthermore, a large 1.8 square meter Panoramic Sunroof further enhances the sense of space and brings additional light into the cabin.

Additionally, the Leapmotor B10 comes in Starry Night Blue, Dawn Mist Purple, Electric White, Tundra Grey, Galaxy Silver, Sky Veil Grey, and Metallic Black colors.

Performance

Leapmotor B10 comes in three configurations in the international market. The 510 Comfort serves as the base variant while the 510 Joy and 600 Joy are the mid-tier and top-spec variants, respectively.

The 510 Comfort version is powered by a 132 kW TZ180XS101 Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor. It generates a max power of 179 PS and a max torque of 175 Nm. It is supported by a 56.2 kWh LFP Battery with 510 km CLTC range.

The 510 Joy and 600 Joy variants come equipped with the more capable 160 kW TZ180XY005 motor, (which delivers superior performance compared to the TZ180XS101 motor found in the 510 Comfort.) It produces a max power of 220 PS and a max torque of 240 Nm.

But, the 510 Joy Mid variant uses the same 56.2 kWh battery pack as the 510 Comfort and offers an identical CLTC-certified range of 510 kilometers.

In contrast, the top-tier 600 Joy variant features a larger 67.1 kWh LFP battery that extends the range to 600 kilometers under the CLTC test cycle.

A 60 kW DC fast charger can recharge those battery packs in approximately one hour to one hour and fifteen minutes, depending on their size.

Leapmotor equips the mid and top variants of the B10 with a comprehensive ADAS suite that includes 128-line Hesai AT128 LiDAR sensors, Three millimeter-wave radars, Dual front-facing 8MP cameras, and a 360-degree camera system. This advanced ADAS runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon Ride 8650 SoC, enabling high-level driver assistance features.

In contrast, the base variant also supports ADAS but lacks the LiDAR sensors, relying solely on cameras and radars. As a result, its system is comparatively less capable than the one found in the higher trims.

It’s important to note that manufacturers rarely include LiDAR technology in mid-size SUVs, especially at this price point. Although Leapmotor equipped the C10 with LiDAR support, the variant launched in Nepal excluded it.

If Leapmotor successfully introduces LiDAR-equipped B10 variants in Nepal, it could become a true segment disruptor in terms of tech and safety features.

Additional Details

McPherson Strut with Stabilizer Bar and Multi-link handles the suspension duties on the front and rear, respectively.

The model measures 4515 mm in length, 1885 mm in width, and 1655 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2735 mm.

The ground clearance for the Leapmotor B10 is 170 mm. And, the kerb weight is 1670-1705 kg.

Also, the rear boot space is 420 liters, which is expandable up to 1415 liters.

Rivals

Coming to competition, Leapmotor B10 will likely rival the MG S5 EV and BYD Atto 3.

The BYD Atto 3 is equipped with a 100 kW motor and comes with 49.92 kWh/60.48 kWh Blade battery, prioritizing safety and efficiency. Similarly, the MG S5 also features a 99 kW motor, available with 49.1 kWh/62.2 kWh battery options, utilizing one of the thinnest lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery designs in its class.

In contrast, the Leapmotor B10 offers more powerful options with either a 132 kW or a 160 kW motor, paired with a 56.2 kWh/67.1 kWh LFP battery. Given the competitive landscape, it is likely that Leapmotor will introduce a 99 kW motor variant to markets like Nepal, allowing them to compete more directly with their rivals.

In recent times, most electric vehicles have started offering well-rounded packages, shifting consumer focus toward long-term ownership experience and brand reputation. The BYD Atto 3 has excelled in these areas, earning its position as the best-selling EV in Nepal.

Likewise, MG has leveraged its strong brand image to drive the success of the S5 EV, building on the foundation laid by the popular ZS EV.

Turning to the B10, as mentioned earlier, Leapmotor has steadily become a familiar name in China, backed by strong sales performance and positive customer feedback.

If Leapmotor Nepal manages to position the B10 competitively in terms of pricing and features, it could emerge as a formidable competitor to established players like BYD and MG in this rapidly expanding market.
