Itel A70 With Unisoc T603 Processor Launched in Nepal

Itel, the Chinese phone manufacturer, is known for making budget-oriented feature phones and smartphones. The company recently launched a new smartphone called the Itel A70 in the Nepalese market.

Because Itel, Infinix, and Tecno are owned by Transsion, a Shenzhen-based holding company in China, the design of the Itel A70 is remarkably similar to the Infinix Hot 40i and the Tecno Spark 20.

The Itel A70 has a Unisoc processor, an IPS LCD display, a 13MP rear camera, and a 5000mAh battery. More details about the phone are given below.

Itel A70 Overview

Design

The design of the Itel A70 is similar to the Tecno Spark 20 and the Infinix Hot 40i, other phones from its parent company. The body and side rails of the A70 are made of plastic material with a glass-like finish.

On the front, the A70 comes with a teardrop-shaped notch for the selfie camera. It also has a sizeable amount of chin which unfortunately gives the phone an asymmetrical look.

The flat sides of the phone give it a boxy appearance and house the fingerprint sensor/power button, SIM card slot, and volume buttons. On the bottom side, you will find the USB-C port, speaker grille, and a 3.5mm headphone jack port.

Talking about the rear, there is a dual camera setup, with the third ring being the flash. The entire arrangement is made to resemble the design of an iPhone Pro‘s camera. Interestingly, Itel has included an AI badge on the rear camera module that helps with the photography experience.

Display

The Itel A70 has a 6.6-inch IPS LCD display which has a resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels.

Itel has also included a ‘Dynamic Bar’ feature on the notch of the A70’s display. It expands through software and shows information about the battery, phone calls, and other important notifications.

Hardware

Powering the device is a Unisoc T603 octa-core processor.

The phone comes with 64GB of internal storage and 4GB of RAM that gets boosted up to 12GB using virtual memory. The phone supports memory expansion in the form of a microSD card.

For Nepalese customers, only the 4/64GB variant is made available officially.

Camera

The Itel A70 has a 13MP main camera that can shoot in HDR. It also comes with an auxiliary lens whose purpose is unknown. Besides that, there is a flash module to the camera’s right.

The selfie camera is a basic 8MP shooter that has some ‘AI features’ slapped in. Itel hasn’t explicitly specified what these ‘AI’ features are. The selfie camera is also capable of authenticating users by its face-unlock feature.

Battery and OS

The Itel A70 comes with a 5000mAh non-removable battery. It charges via a USB-C port at a maximum power of up to 10W.

Operating system-wise, the phone comes with a lighter version of Android 13 called the ‘Go edition’. This OS, as stated by Google, “runs lighter and saves data, making more possible on so many devices,” which makes it more suitable for an entry-level smartphone such as the A70. The OS has Itel OS 13 skin applied on top.

The Itel A70 price in Nepal is Rs. 11,490 (4/64GB). The device is available for purchase online and in physical retailers across Nepal.

The Itel A70 is a typical entry-level smartphone. It has a body made mostly of plastic. Performance-wise, the phone can handle basic daily smartphone tasks. It has a Unisoc T603 processor, a 6.6-inch IPS display, and a 5000mAh battery.
