Hero Motorcycles: Things You Should Remember

Before we get started, there are a few things you should remember.

Since Hero MotoCorp largely focuses on commuter segment motorcycles, every bike on this list will give you excellent mileage, excellent reliability, and excellent durability. That’s why people chose Hero bikes over the competition.

So, I will not go over those aspects again and again. Additionally, it should be implied. However, if any Hero motorcycle does stand out, positive or negative, I’ll be sure to mention them below.

What’s the i3S System?

Hero MotoCorp developed the i3S system to improve fuel efficiency. First implemented in the Hero Splendor iSmart, this system automatically switches off the engine when the riders come to a stop. And automatically turns it on when the rider is ready to go.

For example: when you stop the bike at a stoplight for more than 5 seconds, the i3S system puts the engine into hibernate or sleep mode. When you’re ready to go, simply press the clutch which turns on the engine. This process is automatic and shows to drastically improve overall fuel efficiency.

Hero XPulse Series – XPulse 200 and XPulse 200T

As you may know, Hero MotoCorp always comes with some weird design. Some like it, most don’t. Moreover, they always try to put commuter-ish design touches everywhere, even on their larger 200cc segment.

Hero XPulse 200 Price in Nepal

Hero Karizma ZMR is one of the perfect examples of taking an iconic bike and ruining it for everybody.

However, Hero seems to have gotten things right after a long time. Both Hero XPluse 200T and XPluse 200 looks and feels fresh. Plus, it is most definately one of the more good-looking Hero motorcycles in a long while.

Hero XPulse 200T Price in Nepal

Yes, I love it! I can’t wait to get my hands on this! I’m a fan of everything XPulse has to offer: the engine, all-digital instrument cluster, dual-colored decays, the way it looks, everything!

What’s the difference between the two?

Few things.

Both come with the same engine along with the same performance. Basically, the power output and the torque output are the same! However, there a significant visual difference.

Hero XPulse 200 is a dedicated off-roader with windshield, larger front mud-guard, larger suspension setup, high-mounted exhaust, and spoke wheels.

Likewise, Hero XPulse 200 T is a city-oriented motorcycle with alloy wheels, shorter suspension setup, low-mounted exhaust, and alloy wheels.

Just because of the larger front mud-guard, Hero XPulse 200 looks miles better! In comparison, it looks like an excellent mix between a Scrambler and Royal Enfield Himalayan.

Yes, it is strange to see XPulse pull it off so effortlessly.

Furthermore, it has the right mix of affordability with practicality, which is pretty rare for a 2019 two-wheeler.

On a side note, Hero XPulse 200 has become one of my favorites! Although, I was hoping the price would be possibly 3.50Lakhs. Still, under 4 Lakhs, I think it’s a great motorcycle. Nonetheless, I’ll be sure to tell you once I get my hands on it!

On the other hand, Hero Splendor Pro resembles the modern ear Hero motorcycle with the curvy headlamp along with a little more complicated design.Hero Splendor Pro Likewise, there’s yet another Splendor model, if things weren’t confusing enough. Moving along the list, Hero Achiever is the very first 150cc motorcycle. As one should expect, hero Achiever is well-reserved hosting a commuter design without being too simple. Although, Hero should consider updating this bike at some point. Despite the commuter-ish design, the power output is interesting.

So, Hero Achiever generates a max power and max torque of 13PS. The overall power output is equivalent to other more expensive other big dogs like Bajaj Pulsar 150, Honda Unicorn, and so forth.

Hero Xtreme Series

The Xtreme series is Hero’s answer to the ever-growing popularity of sporty performance motorcycle. With Apache RTR, Bajaj Pulsar NS, Yamaha FZS taking the market by storm… Hero MotoCorp couldn’t just stand there and watch.

There are four models under the “Xtreme” nametag: Xtreme, Xtreme Sports, Xtreme 200R, and Xtreme 200S. Moreover, the overall look and the feel of the motorcycle remains unchanged, with few visible differences and one major performance difference. Additionally, Xtreme 200S is the latest to join the list with full faring design.

Honestly, I’ll take Hero Xtreme 200S over the ridiculous Hero Karizma any day of the week!

Yet again, you will get that commuter-ish design, which kind of feels misplaced. But its Hero, so you have to get used to it.

The overall design could’ve been improved. On the other hand, Hero Xtreme series has so much to offer at this price point, which is very rare for any company to do.

Hero Karizma

*sigh*

Hero Karizma used to be larger than life! This used to be everyone’s dream bike. Unfortunately, it’s just trying to relive its formal glory at this point.

Pardon my French, but this bike looks horrible! My blood literally boils when I realize what “Karizma” used to stand for. Honestly, I have never done this before, but I strongly advise you against buying both Hero Karizma R and Hero Karizma. At least, up until the point, they go back to the drawing board.

Additionally, the twin headlamp looks weird, the body is weirdly misplaced… it doesn’t even come with an engine kill switch! It’s like trying to get me mad! There’s just so much wrong with this one. Furthermore, it’s not just me.

Hey, Hero MotoCorp! Go back to the drawing board, come back with a good design! Give Hero Karizma the respect it deserves!

Should You Buy Hero Bikes in Nepal?

That was all about the Hero bikes price in Nepal. While the commuter-oriented motorcycle is excellent which largely appeals to the masses… same cannot be said about their sporty and performance-oriented motorcycles.

Hero’s Splendor series is one of the excellent examples of this, reserving that classic look without unwavering build quality.

If you want a durable engine with good performance from a reliable brand, Hero’s commuter motorcycle might just be it. However, if you are looking for something more performance-oriented, I’d strongly advise you to look elsewhere. Well, until Hero MotoCorp learns something from Honda about motorcycle design.

That being said, you should look at the new Hero XPulse lineup which sounds promising. Furthermore, it practically comes with everything you’d want from your motorcycle.

We’ve already compiled the list of different Bike Price list in Nepal. Be sure to check them out!
