Samsung Launches Galaxy Watch 6 in Nepal, Larger Screen and Thinner Bezel!

Samsung announced the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 series in Nepal during the Galaxy Unpacked event held in Kathmandu on August 13, 2023. The Watch series was announced globally on July 26, 2023, along with the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 smartphones.

With the Watch 6, they also announced the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. We’ll talk about the Watch 6 Classic in another article and dedicate this one to the Watch 6. The watch is available in two sizes: 44mm and 40mm; however, only a 40mm model is available in Nepal. Let’s look at what this premium smartwatch has to offer.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 Overview

Design and Display

The Samsung Galaxy 6 is now larger and slimmer compared to the Watch 5. The display has seen a 20% enlargement with 30% slimmer black margins which help the watch get more display real-estate.

The IP68-rated watch has been redesigned and trimmed down to make it easier to wear. The straps are switchable and released with a single click. They’ve used sapphire crystal glass on the front while the frame is made from aluminum with MIL-STD-810H durability.

Hardware

It is powered by the Exynos W930 (5 nm) (Dual-core 1.4GHz Cortex-A55) which is 18% faster than last gen and has the Mali-G68 for GPU. They’ve also bumped up the RAM from 1.5GB to 2GB for the Watch 6 but the storage is the same 16GB.

Health and Features

The Galaxy Watch 6 has over 90 exercises that it can track. The watch also lets you create your own custom workout and automatically recognizes and records select workouts even if the user forgets to start recording.

It features other features like Sleep tracking, cycle tracking, and body composition. You miss out on the Track Back feature with the Watch 6 however.

Additionally, it also has more health features like Advanced Sleep Coaching, ECG / Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification, Personalized Heart Rate Zones, BIA (Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis), Skin Temperature / Cycle Tracking, and Blood Oxygen.

Software

The Watch 6 comes with Wear OS 4 topped with One UI Watch 5. You can text, call, and stream music through the watch, even without your phone.

You also get Samsung Wallet with the watch and can pay without taking your phone out.

Connectivity and Battery

For connectivity, the smartwatch supports Bluetooth 5.3 and dual-band Wi-Fi 5. It also has NFC support and built-in GNSS support, including GPS, Glonass, BDS, and Galileo.

In the battery department, the watch comes with either a 300mAh or 420mAh battery depending on the variant, and features 10W wireless charging.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 price in Nepal is Rs. 44,999 (40mm). It is available for purchase at Samsung stores across the country.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 is a premium smartwatch that tracks lots of workouts and comes with health features like Advanced Sleep Coaching, ECG / Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification, Blood Oxygen, and more.

The smartwatch is IP68-rated and features sapphire glass at the front for protection.
