Infinix Note 8i with Helio G80 Launched in Nepal Exclusively via Daraz

Infinix has been launching plenty of smartphones in Nepal since 2020. Infinix Hot 9 Play is one of its most popular devices. And now, Infinix has launched the Infinix Note 8i in Nepal.

The Infinix Note 8i price in Nepal is Rs. 21,490. The phone comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage and is exclusively available for purchase via Daraz.

Infinix Note 8i is an entry-level mid-range phone that utilizes the new Helio G80 chipset from MediaTek along with a 48MP quad-camera setup.

But, what are its other features? Let’s take a look.

Infinix Note 8i Overview

Design

Infinix Note 8i uses a plastic frame and a plastic back on the rear. It has a glossy finish on the back with diamond-shaped patterns. Infinix calls it Gem Cut finish. On the rear, it has a quad-camera whereas the fingerprint sensor is side-mounted.

On the front, it has a hole-punch on the top-left corner.

Display

Infinix Note 8i is using a 6.78-inch hole punch display with a screen resolution of 720 x 1640 pixels. The side bezels look thin whereas the bottom lip is not as thin. It’s an IPS LCD display that boasts 480 nits of peak brightness.

It’s a very big display worthy of the Note tagline and furthermore, Infinix claims a contrast ratio of 1500:1.

Hardware

Infinix Note 8i has a MediaTek Helio G80 chipset. It’s a 12nm chipset with Octa-core (2×2.0 GHz Cortex-A75 & 6×1.8 GHz Cortex-A55) CPU and Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. To top it off it has 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

We’ve seen the MediaTek Helio G80 chipset on the phones like Poco M2. It can provide adequate performance even for gaming. And, given Note 8i has an HD+ screen, gaming performance should be good.

Camera

On the back, there’s a rectangular camera module. The camera module houses a 48MP main sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, a 2MP macro sensor, and an AI camera. Then, it has a quad-LED flash within the camera module. The camera module is also protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.

On the front, it has an 8MP camera sensor for selfies. The phone can capture videos at 2k30fps from the rear camera.

Battery & Others

The Infinix Note 8i houses a big 5200 mAh battery with 18W fast charging. The battery should be able to last more than a day. The 18W fast charging should take approximately 2 hours to charge the battery from 0 to 100.

It runs on XOS 7.0 on top of Android 10. Furthermore, it comes with DTS audio processing for better audio clarity.

Infinix Note 8i looks cool design-wise, especially the circular camera module. It has a huge display but it’s not an FHD panel. The Helio G80 chipset is quite good.

Then it has a 48MP sensor along with three other sensors but doesn’t have an ultrawide angle sensor. I think it would have been better if the Note 8i had a good ultrawide angle sensor than the other three sensors.

The battery is huge and has 18W fast charging as well. The phone looks good but it will face stiff competition from the likes of the Redmi Note 9.
