Realme 6i with Helio G80 and HD+ Display Launched in Nepal

Realme has been right on the heels of Redmi with its competitive phones. And, they are keeping the competition going with the release of the Realme 6i in Nepal.

Realme 6i is an upgrade to the Realme 5i. Realme 6i price in Nepal is Rs. 25990 for the 4/128GB variant. It is available in two colors, White Milk and Green Tea.

Realme 6i Overview

Design

Realme 6i has a plastic back and plastic frame. It follows the design elements of the Realme 5 series. There are 4 cameras on the back along with a fingerprint sensor.

One the front, it has a waterdrop notch with a 720p IPS display.

Display

Realme 6i has a 6.5-inch IPS LCD HD+ display but it’s not a 90Hz display like Realme 6. Realme claims a brightness of 280 nits on the Realme 6i.

Well, the display should have been a Full HD+ display. For a phone that costs Rs. 25,990, I expected a Full HD+ display.

Hardware

Realme 6i gets an update in terms of the chipset. Now, they are using Helio G80 chipset.

It has Octa-core (2×2.0 GHz Cortex-A75 & 6×1.8 GHz Cortex-A55) CPU and Mali-G52 MC2 CPU along with 4GB RAM and 128GB ROM.

Well, it’s a nice upgrade from Snapdragon 665 on the Realme 5i but we are getting Helio G85 on the Redmi Note 9 which is its main competition.

However, there’s only a slight difference between Helio G80 and G85. Both of them have the same CPU and GPU. The difference is that the G80 GPU runs on 950MHz whereas the G85 GPU runs on 1000 Mhz.

But this might not make a huge difference in performance because Realme 6i uses HD panel so the games will be smoother as it does not have to push as much pixel as the Redmi Note 9 that uses FHD panel.

Camera

On to camera, it has a quad-camera setup on the rear.

There’s a 48MP ISOCELL GM1 sensor which is also used on the Redmi Note 9. Except that, there’s an 8MP ultrawide angle sensor, 2MP macro sensor, and a 2MP B/W sensor.

Whereas, it has a 16MP sensor on the front for selfies.

Battery

Realme 6i has a massive 5000 mAh battery along with 18W fast charging. The battery is more than enough and the fast charging is also adequate.

Moving on, Realme 6i runs on Realme UI 1.0 on top of Android 10. Furthermore, it does come with a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type C port.

Realme 6i Price in Nepal and Availability

Realme 6i price in Nepal is Rs. 25,990 for the 4/128GB variant. It will be available for purchase from next week via offline retail stores.

This puts the Realme 6i in competition with the Redmi Note 9 which is available for Rs. 22,999 in Nepal.

If we compare them side by side them Redmi Note 9 definitely peeks ahead with a Full HD+ display. Except for this, both of them have identical hardware. There won’t be much performance difference but Realme 6i might play games better due to it’s HD panel. But of course, the graphics won’t be as good as the Redmi Note 9.

So, Realme 6i definitely looks good but there should have been a Full HD+ display. Also, it costs 3k more than the Redmi Note 9.
