TVS X Coming Soon in Nepal: Bold Electric Vision or Risky Gamble?

The TVS X is set to arrive in Nepal, with the electric scooter recently spotted undergoing testing in Kathmandu. It will become the second electric scooter in TVS Nepal’s lineup, following the strong market response to the TVS iQube.

Jagadamba Motors, the authorised distributor of TVS scooters in Nepal, is preparing to introduce the new electric model. While official details are still limited, the testing phase confirms that the scooter is moving closer to launch, an essential step before any new product enters the Nepali market.

The TVS X traces its roots back to the TVS Creon 07, a performance-oriented electric scooter concept showcased at Auto Expo 2018. That concept was finally brought to life in 2023 as the production-spec TVS X while retaining much of the original sporty design and core engineering focus.

As a finished product, the TVS X represents a significant leap in styling, performance, and features. It is built on the new XLETON platform and features sculpted bodywork, TVS LED Tech 2.0, and segment-first single-channel ABS. Given its positioning and hardware, the TVS X is expected to sit at the top of TVS Nepal’s electric lineup, both in terms of offering and pricing.

So, this is expected to be a flagship in both offering and price.

Nevertheless, this higher pricing should not come as a surprise. TVS has positioned the X as a halo product rather than a mass-market scooter. That intent is clear from the fact that it is offered in a single, fully loaded variant even in India. The TVS X is meant to showcase the brand’s design, technology, and performance capabilities, while strengthening its image as a serious player in electric mobility.

TVS X Overview

Design

The TVS X marks a clear break from conventional scooter design. Rather than evolving an existing model, it positions itself as a futuristic, tech-focused electric scooter. The design is sharp, minimal, and distinctly premium. Every panel feels deliberate, giving the TVS X a concept-like presence that stands out immediately.

The front design is clean but striking. Instead of traditional lamp housings, the TVS X uses a vertically stacked LED lighting setup, with cornering lamps neatly integrated into the front apron. The naked handlebar area is uncluttered with a wide and flat stance.

From the side, the floating body panels, exposed mid-section, and sharp geometric lines create a light yet muscular profile. The sculpted floorboard, which houses the charging port, further separates it from conventional flat-deck commuter scooters. The minimalist split-seat design keeps the silhouette clean and purposeful.

The rear continues this futuristic theme. A slim LED taillight is integrated cleanly into the tail section, which is compact and slightly raised. This gives the TVS X a sporty, almost motorcycle-like stance. 

Inside the cockpit, the TVS X features a large 10.2-inch high-resolution TFT touchscreen. It resembles a tablet more than a traditional scooter display. This is a highly customizable screen with leading connectivity features, similar to an electric car.

Performance

The TVS X is powered by a 7kW BLDC hub motor, producing a peak power of 11kW and 37Nm of torque. It has a claimed top speed of 105km/h, with 0–40km/h in 2.6 seconds and 0–60km/h in 4.5 seconds. TVS credits this performance to its aerodynamic efficiency, citing a class-leading CdA figure, although the exact number has not been disclosed.

It is supported by a 4.44kWh twin-stack lithium-ion battery with a claimed IDC range of 140km. In real-world conditions, TVS states that a solo rider weighing 70–80kg can expect up to 118km in city use.

There is support for a 950W AC charger, which takes the battery from 0 to 80% in 4 hours and 30 minutes. The scooter also supports a 3kW Smart X Home charger, capable of charging from 0 to 50 percent in 50 minutes.

The TVS X is built on the all-new XLETON platform developed specifically for this model. It uses a motorcycle-inspired structure based on TVS’s GravitOPS layout. This includes an aluminium twin-spar perimeter frame, an exposed light-alloy subframe, and a lower cradle housing the battery. The focus here is on a low centre of gravity and high structural stiffness, aimed at improving stability, cornering confidence, and overall riding dynamics.

Another key highlight is the RAM-assisted air-cooling system for the battery. Air is channelled through dedicated front ducts to cool the battery pack directly. This passive system is lighter and simpler than liquid cooling, and TVS claims it is effective enough to eliminate the need for liquid cooling. How well this performs in hotter Terai conditions in Nepal remains to be seen.

Rounding out the package are 3 Ride modes, 5 levels of selectable Regenerative Braking, Cruise Control, and Hill-Hold Control.

Additional Details

The TVS X measures 1,793mm in length, 809mm in width, and 1,149mm in height, with the wheelbase listed at 137kg. Ground clearance stands at 175mm.

Suspension duties are handled by a Telescopic fork at the front and an offset Mono-Shock at the rear. It runs on 12-inch wheels, with a 100/80-section tyre up front and a wider 110/80-section tyre at the rear.

Braking is handled by a Dual-Disc setup, paired with segment-leading Single-Channel ABS.

Being a performance-focused electric scooter, storage is not a priority. Even so, it still manages to offer a usable 19-litre underseat storage space.

TVS X Price in Nepal and Availability

The TVS X price in Nepal has not been officially revealed yet. Based on its pricing in India, it is expected to fall somewhere between Rs. 5 lakhs and Rs. 7 lakhs. TVS Nepal has generally positioned its products competitively in the local market, so it will be interesting to see how the TVS X is priced when it launches.

We reached out to TVS Nepal for clearer estimates on pricing and launch timelines, but those details could not be shared at this stage. That said, the TVS X has already been spotted undergoing testing in Kathmandu, indicating that the launch is likely not far away.

The TVS X will likely rival the Ather 450X.

On paper, the two scooters share clear similarities. The TVS X leads on outright specifications, while the Ather 450X delivers a broadly similar experience at a more accessible price. However, that comparison only goes so far.

The TVS X is not built around value. Instead, it prioritizes performance and technology with little emphasis on cost. This positions it more as a showcase product than a volume seller, offering a glimpse of future electric mobility at a premium price.

That intent is further reflected in decisions such as offering the 950W AC charger as a paid optional accessory in India. Whether the same approach will be followed in Nepal remains to be seen, though it appears unlikely.

For buyers simply looking for an electric scooter from TVS, the iQube S 3.5 remains the more sensible choice. At present, demand for ultra-premium electric two-wheelers in Nepal is limited. Models like the Ultraviolette F77, Zeeho AE8, NIU RQi, and Horwin SK3 were introduced less as volume products and more to establish brand image and technological credibility. The TVS X follows a similar pattern. Some may purchase it, but many will likely admire it from afar.
