Honor 8A Pro with 3GB RAM and Helio P35 Launched in Nepal

We haven’t seen new phones from Honor in quite a while in Nepal. But that has now changed with the Honor 8A Pro.

Technically it’s not a new phone because it was globally launched in April 2019. And, Honor Nepal has finally made it available in Nepal. Honor 8A Pro price in Nepal is Rs. 15,699 for 3/64GB variant.

Design

Honor 8A Pro and Honor 8A look exactly the same. The 8A Pro has the same plastic back with a glossy finish and a two-tone design. There’s a single camera on the rear and a fingerprint sensor as well.

On the front, it has a dew-drop notch with a relatively small 6.09 inches display. Honor 8A Pro shares the design language of Huawei Y6s 2019. They are exactly the same thing.

Display

Honor 8A Pro has a 6.09 inches IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 720 x 1560 pixels. It’s a small phone with a small display with ~79.2% screen-to-body ratio.

Honor calls it full view display and protection on the front glass is not mentioned.

Hardware

Honor 8A Pro is using Mediatek Helio P35 chipset. It’s a 12nm chipset with Octa-core (4×2.3 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.8 GHz Cortex-A53) CPU and PowerVR GE8320 GPU.

Along with it, it gets 3GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. And, you can expand the storage up to 512GB using microSD.

Helio P35 performs quite similar to Snapdragon 439 and Snapdragon 450 which are quite common in phones within this price category.

Camera

Honor 8A Pro has a 13MP rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture. The rear camera is capable of taking 1080p@30 fps videos.

On the front, it has an 8MP camera which can also capture 1080p@30fps videos.

Battery

Honor 8A Pro has a 3020 mAh battery and does not support fast charging. Given its display size and the processor, the battery will last for a day of use.

Furthermore, it runs on EMUI 9 on top of Android 9 Pie. It supports face unlock and has a 3.5m headphone jack as well.

Honor 8A Pro is a decent budget phone that provides you good hardware and good design. But, this is an old phone and there are plenty of new phones from other manufacturers than provides more features for almost the same price.

You can get Redmi 8 for a similar price or you could even go for Realme C3 for slightly more money. But if you want to spend 15,699 on Honor 8A Pro, go ahead, it’s a good budget phone.
