This article will discuss the more affordable option between the two, i.e. ZTE Nubia A36.

ZTE Nubia A36 Overview

Design and Display

First things first, let’s talk about the design because it looks very, very familiar. ZTE Nubia A36’s resemblance to the new and shiny iPhone 17 Pro series is straight up uncanny.

Latest Mobile Prices

I was about to brush this off as independent convergence, but turns out it’s no accident! This is because ZTE also has a “Nubia Air” with a slim frame on its international roster, which has no reason to exist and be named that way, other than to capitalise on the launch of a certain iPhone Air.

So yeah, the ZTE Nubia A36’s design was definitely stolen from the iPhone 17 Pros, and this is a literal “We have an iPhone at home” moment.

Apart from the looks, it even comes in three colourways just like the iPhone. There is a Silver and a Black shade, just like the iPhone. However, instead of the iPhone’s highlighted, what we would call “jogi” colour, we get a rather easy-on-the-eye Green option with the ZTE Nubia A36.

While it looks the part, it isn’t built the same, of course. It has plastic for its frames instead of aluminium, and no IP ratings are listed either.

As for the display, it has a 6.75-inch LCD panel with HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of up to 90Hz.

Hardware and the rest

Moving on to the hardware side of things, the ZTE Nubia A36 is powered by the UNISOC T7200. This chipset is a rebrand of a pre-existing processor called T606, which made frequent appearances in this price range.

The silicon is paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Users can virtually expand the memory by an additional 8GB, and the phone also offers storage expansion with a dedicated microSD card slot. Likewise, a 5,000mAh cell juices the ZTE Nubia A36 while supporting a standard charging speed of 10W.

Talking of the cameras, there is a 13MP snapper on the back, which is accompanied by an unspecified auxiliary lens. Meanwhile, there is a 5MP shooter on the front for selfies.

Software-wise, the ZTE Nubia A36 boots on Android 15 out of the box, which is great and all. But it also means the phone will likely be bloatware-prone like all the other ZTE phones we recently reviewed.

ZTE Nubia A36 Price in Nepal and Availability

The ZTE Nubia A36 price in Nepal is Rs. 10,999 (4/GB). It comes with an 18-month warranty and is the most affordable phone available on EMI.

4/64GB Rs. 10,999

The ZTE Nubia A36 is the most affordable phone that also offers a financing option, making it very appealing to customers on extremely tight budgets. But EMI alone wouldn’t mean much if the phone itself were weak, of course.

The good news is, it’s actually a quite decent phone. While I can’t help but chuckle at its uncanny resemblance to the iPhone 17 Pro Max, its hardware holds up well for the price.

It’s not quite on the same level as the Redmi A5, which is the best phone at this price point, but the gap between the two isn’t all that wide either.
