Vivo Y27s with 44W Charging Launched in Nepal

Vivo launched a new smartphone variant to its Y27-series smartphone — the Vivo Y27s — earlier this month in Indonesia. And the phone has arrived in Nepal today.

The VIvo Y27s price in Nepal is Rs. 24,999 (8/256GB). The phone is available for purchase at Vivo-authorized stores nationwide.

First 5000 customers will get a free pair of earbuds and a “vivo VIP Card.”

Vivo is running its #vivoCoolAmbassador campaign from December 11, 2023, until December 27, 2023. During the campaign period, users can create and upload Y27s videos on their social media pages, and the most liked videos will determine the winners.

The top winner gets a Vivo Y27s. Second place wins Rs. 10,000 cash, and third place wins Rs. 5,000 cash. Plus, all three winners will have a chance to do a photo shoot.

Vivo first launched the Vivo Y27 in Nepal in August 2023. It was the 4G variant, while the 5G is unavailable in the country.

The Y27s are similar to the Vivo Y27 except for the chipset and the design. In this article, we will discuss the specifications and features of the Vivo Y27s.

Vivo Y27s Overview

Design

The Vivo Y27s features Vivo’s “scratch-resistant sparkling crystalline matte finish” on the back, available in burgundy black and garden green color options.

Similar to the Vivo Y27, it has two large camera rings on the back. However, unlike the Y27, the cameras sit on a rectangular island. The phone has flat sides and back, with slightly curved edges, known as the 2.5D curve.

As usual, the power and volume buttons are located on the right side, with the power button also serving as a fingerprint sensor. The phone is IP54 dust and water-resistant.

Display

The phone sports a 6.64-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with a waterdrop notch. The display supports a 90Hz refresh rate, which is an upgrade over the Y27’s 60Hz one.

Additionally, the display has a local peak brightness of 650 nits.

Hardware

Powering the Vivo Y27s is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 680 chipset, which is a budget chipset built on a 6nm process node.

The processor has four “big” Kryo 265 Gold cores (up to 2.4GHz) based on the Arm Cortex-A73 and four “LITTLE” Kryo 265 Silver cores (up to 1.9GHz) based on the Arm Cortex-A53.

The Snapdragon 680 is a decent budget chipset if you don’t plan to do graphics-intensive work like gaming on it. The processor is good for basic day-to-day tasks and multitasking.

For memory, the phone comes with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage.

Camera

The dual rear camera setup consists of a 50MP primary camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The front has an 8MP selfie camera.

The phone can shoot up to 1080p video at 30fps. Like the Y27, the Y27s too does not have an ultrawide camera.

Battery and OS

The phone includes a 5000mAh battery, which should provide a good battery life.

For charging, it supports 44W fast charging. Vivo says in just 15 minutes, the phone can be charged from 0% to 29%, which is impressive.

In terms of software, the Vivo Y27 comes with Funtouch OS 13 based on Android 13.

The Vivo Y27s is a budget smartphone, similar to the Vivo Y27 except for the processor. It is powered by the Snapdragon 680 instead of the G85, which is somewhat of an upgrade, but the gap is small.

The 90Hz display is an improvement over the 60Hz display, but it is an LCD panel, not OLED, which would have enhanced the display further. Additionally, it features a 50MP main camera but lacks an ultrawide camera.

On the positive side, it boasts a 5000mAh battery and supports 44W fast charging, making it likely the fastest charging speed for a phone in this price range.
