Tecno Spark 30 with Helio G91 and 64MP Camera Launched in Nepal

Tecno has been on a roll, consistently launching new devices over the past few months. The latest addition is the Tecno Spark 30, which succeeds the Tecno Spark 20.

The Tecno Spark 30 price in Nepal is Rs. 22,499 for the regular model and Rs. 22,990 for the Bumble-Bee Edition, both available in a single 8/256GB configuration.

It is available for purchase via Daraz and authorized vivo retail stores across the country.

The Tecno Spark 30 brings several upgrades over the Tecno Spark 30C and its predecessors. It now boasts an FHD+ resolution display, providing sharper visuals compared to the previous HD+ screens, while still supporting a smooth 90Hz refresh rate.

Additionally, the phone is equipped with an upgraded processor, an enhanced camera, and a more powerful chipset, offering overall improved performance.

Tecno Spark 30 Overview

Design

Following the design language of the Tecno Spark 30C, the Tecno Spark 30 maintains a similar plastic build. The plastic frame houses the volume buttons and power button, which doubles as a fingerprint scanner, on the right.

At the bottom, a USB-C port is positioned between the 3.5mm headphone jack and the primary speaker, while the left side features a dual SIM + microSD slot. A second speaker on top completes the stereo setup, supporting Dolby Atmos for enhanced audio quality.

The back showcases a watch-like bezel around the camera bump, complemented by a horizontal stripe running across the perimeter. The device is IP64-rated for dust and splash resistance, and it supports wet and greasy touch input.

Adding flair to its design, Tecno introduces the BumbleBee edition in collaboration with Transformers, featuring a distinctive yellow and black color scheme. Or you can keep it low-key with the Orbit Black and Orbit White color options.

Up front, the Tecno Spark 30 boasts an FHD+ LCD with a centered punch-hole for the selfie camera. While the bezels remain uniform around the display, there’s a sizeable chin at the bottom.

The Tecno Spark 30 features a 6.78-inch IPS LCD panel with a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 800 nits, providing a smooth viewing experience for everyday use.

With a 20.5:9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1080 x 2460 pixels, the display achieves a pixel density of 396 ppi, offering clear and sharp visuals.

Hardware

Powering the device is the MediaTek Helio 91 SoC, an upgrade from the G81 found in its C-series counterpart.

It comes with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage as standard, with expandable storage available via a dedicated microSD card slot.

Camera

The circular camera bump hosts a dual-camera setup with a 64MP Sony IMX682 sensor as the primary shooter. The auxiliary lens’s purpose is unspecified but complements the setup with a quad-LED flash. The Tecno Spark 30 can record videos up to 1440p at 30fps.

The selfie camera is a 13MP shooter capable of recording 1080p videos at 30fps. An IR blaster is also placed alongside the cameras at the back.

Battery and OS

The Tecno Spark 30 features a robust 5000mAh battery with 18W wired charging via the USB-C port.

It runs on HiOS 14, built on top of Android 14, offering features like Floating Windows, Smart Search, a dedicated Game Mode, Game Assistant, Dynamic Port 2.0, and more.

Additionally, it brings Tecno’s AI-powered voice assistant named Ella, adding a smart touch to the user experience.

The Tecno Spark 30 is priced at Rs. 22,499 (Regular) and Rs. 22,990 (Bumble-Bee Edition) in Nepal. It is available for purchase via e-commerce and physical retail stores across the country.

The Tecno Spark 30, with its UFS storage, 64MP camera, and capable Helio G91 processor, checks all the right boxes for an all-around device. It brings decent specs, a lower price tag, and a tried-and-tested design to the budget segment.

But for the price that it’s coming for, it faces tough competition from the likes of Realme 12X 5G, Honor X7b, Redmi Note 13 4G, and even Tecno’s own Tecno Pova 5 outshines the Tecno Spark 30 which launched last year and with a lower price tag as well.

With its pricing as the main advantage, can the Tecno Spark 30 hold up in the long run and succeed in the Nepali market? Only time will tell.
