Tata Curvv.ev Overview
Design
The Tata Curvv.ev showcases an angular yet striking design.
It differentiates from regular SUV coupes with its sleek and modern design language. It follows Tata’s neo-electric design lineup with its Full-width LED DRLs, Double-stacked LED Headlamps, and Fog Lights with Cornering Function.
The charging port is located at the center which is a premium touch. It is electrically activated and closes automatically.
The side profile might be polarizing for some. The car seems like a modified version of two different vehicles, with the top half and the wheel section resembling parts from different models.
Although the design may initially seem unbalanced, it achieves an ideal 50/50 weight distribution, ensuring excellent stability and handling. This design also contributes to its tall 190 mm of ground clearance.
And, the 18-inch Alloy Wheels with Aero Inserts further complement the ground clearance of the Curvv.ev and its tall stance.
The rear of the Curvv.ev lives up to its name, with the angular rear window and Gesture-Controlled Tailgate creating a shape reminiscent of a tail.
Inside, the Curvv.ev exudes a premium feel. The dashboard features a 12.3-inch Touchscreen Infotainment System, compatible with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with a Wi-Fi hotspot.
Despite the dashboard’s overall quality being somewhat mediocre with plastic trim, it does feature leather padding with neat stitching, adding a touch of luxury. The two-spoke steering wheel with physical controls sits in front of a well-designed 10.25-inch Instrument Cluster.
The interior features all leatherette upholstery, enhancing the overall comfort. Also, the interior experience is enhanced by a 9-speaker JBL Cinematic Sound System.
Additionally, Tata Curvv.ev comes in Virtual Sunrise, Empowered Oxide, Flame Red, Pristine White, and Pure Grey.
Performance
The Tata Curvv.ev is powered by a 98 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous motor that generates a max power of 133 PS and a max torque of 215 Nm.
It is supported by a 55 kWh battery pack, which provides an ARAI-claimed range of 585 km. However, the C75 test claims this figure to be between 400 km to 425 km.
It can be charged from 0 to 100% in around 8 hours using the same 7.2 kW AC charger.
With a 70 kW DC Fast Charger, it can charge from 10% to 80% in just 45 minutes.
Compared to the Indian available version, the motor capacity has beendecreased by 25kW. However, it should help improve the overall range figures without impacting the performance in the real-world.
Moreover, it has a top speed of 160 km/h and has a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of 8.6 seconds.
