Sipradi Trading, the official distributor of Tata vehicles in Nepal, is preparing to launch the Tata Curvv.ev as part of its expanding electric vehicle lineup.

The vehicle was recently spotted in Kathmandu, and the launch is expected to take place soon.

The Curvv.ev is Tata’s flagship electric vehicle, built on the same Acti.ev platform as the Tata Punch EV.

However, it features an enhanced version of that platform called the Adaptive Tech Forward Lifestyle Architecture (ATLAS).

While Tata’s current Acti.ev-based models share many similarities, the Curvv.ev stands out, especially when you take a closer look at its unique design.

Although the front of the Curvv.ev may initially resemble the Punch EV, its distinctive curves set it apart, offering a design unlike anything Tata has ever created before.

Tata Curvv.ev Overview

Design

The Tata Curvv.ev showcases an angular design, which is more striking compared to regular SUV coupes.

At the front, the Curvv.ev aligns with the sleek, modern design language seen in Tata’s neo-electric lineup. Full-width LED DRLs decorates the front, with double-stacked LED headlamps and fog lights beneath.

The charging port, located centrally, is electrically activated and closes automatically, adding a premium touch.

The side profile might be polarizing for some. The car seems like a modified version of two different vehicles, with the top half and the wheel section resembling parts from different models.

Although the design may initially seem unbalanced, it achieves an ideal 50/50 weight distribution, ensuring excellent stability and handling. This design also contributes to its tall 190 mm of ground clearance. Furthermore, the 18-inch Alloy Wheels complements the ground clearance of the Curvv.ev and its tall stance.

The rear of the Curvv.ev lives up to its name, with the angular rear window and Gesture-Controlled Tailgate creating a shape reminiscent of a tail.

Inside, the Curvv.ev exudes a premium feel. The dashboard features a 12.3-inch Touchscreen Infotainment System, compatible with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with a Wi-Fi hotspot.

Despite the dashboard’s overall quality being somewhat mediocre with plastic trim, it does feature leather padding with neat stitching, adding a touch of luxury. The two-spoke steering wheel with physical controls sits in front of a well-designed 10.25-inch Instrument Cluster.

The interior feature all leatherette upholstery, enhancing the overall comfort. Also, the interior experience is enhanced by a 9-speaker JBL system. 

Performance

The Curvv.ev is powered by a 123 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous motor that generates a max power of 167 PS and a max torque of 215 Nm.

It is supported by a 55 kWh battery pack, which provides an ARAI-claimed range of 585 km. However, the C75 test claims this figure to be between 400 km to 425 km. It can be charged from 0 to 100% in around 8 hours using the same 7.2 kW AC charger.

With a 70 kW DC Fast Charger, it can charge from 10% to 80% in just 45 minutes.

Moreover, it has a top speed of 160 km/h and has a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration time of 8.6 seconds.

Additional Details

McPherson Strut with Coil Spring and Twist Beam handle the suspension duties.

The dimensions are 4310 mm in length, 1810 mm in width, and 1637 mm in height. Moreover, the wheelbase is 2560 mm.

The ground clearance sits at a comfortable 193 mm. Moreover, the boot space is 500-liters.

Tata Curvv.ev price in Nepal has not been revealed yet, but it is set to be officially launched by February 2025.

Moreover, Tata Nepal officials have confirmed that the Curvv.ev will be launched in the 55 kWh Battery Pack option for Nepal.

The Tata Curvv.ev and Hyundai Creta Electric are set to be strong contenders in the electric SUV market.

However, the Curvv.ev outshines the Creta Electric in terms of motor capacity. The Curvv.ev comes with a 55 kWh pack with a claimed range of 585 km.

In comparison, the Creta Electric offers a 42 kWh pack for a range of 390 km and a 51.4 kWh pack with a claimed range of 473 km.

While both vehicles boast competitive range figures, the Curvv.ev takes the lead, especially with its larger battery option.

Both vehicles features an Level 2 Advanced Driver-Assist Systems (ADAS), with other features likely to be comparable across both models.

Tata Motors takes a bold step away from its usual design language, introducing a fresh new look that breaks the monotony of boxy cars. Will this daring move win over the masses?
