Tata Punch EV Overview

Design

Tata Punch EV design is inspired by the new Tata Nexon.

Punch EV is almost identical to its petrol variant. However, the grills and diffusers are slightly modified and are now body-colored.

It is the first Tata EV with a Charging Port on the front side which sits just below the LED DRLs. Interestingly, these LED DRLs also act as charging indicators.

Along with that, it is also the first Tata EV to feature a Front Frunk with a capacity of 5 Kg.

It has auto LED Projector Headlamps and LED Fog Lamps. The fog lamps feature a cornering function that brightens the corners of vehicles during turns.

The sunroof is an optional add-on at an extra cost.

The muscular cladding, creases, and black-colored lower section are identical to the Punch Petrol.

Punch EV features 90-degree opening doors. This is not a significant change but still, it will help the passengers to get inside the SUV more conveniently.

Finally, the rear section carries forward the same theme of Punch Petrol with striking Y-shaped LED tail lights. The only difference is the 3D Punch EV branding on the back.

Coming to the interior, the dashboard looks the same as in the petrol version. The Punch EV has two 10.5-inch screens, one of which is a touch screen in front of the steering wheel. It displays important information like range, battery capacity, and navigation.

The infotainment system by Harman is located almost at the center. It supports wireless and Android Auto car play. Additionally, it can display a 360-degree surround view.

Since the Punch is a micro-SUV, the leg spacing and height is a bit crunched.

The front seats are ventilated with leatherette covers. Whereas, the rear seats are not ventilated. Sadly, there are no AC vents and charging ports for the rear passenger.

Additionally, Punch EV comes in Empowered Oxide, Seaweed, Daytona Grey, Fearless Red, Pristine White color options.

Tata Punch EV Price in Nepal and Availability

The price of the Tata Punch EV in Nepal remains uncertain as it has not yet been officially announced, pending its launch.

However, considering its price in India which rangers from INRs. 10.98 Lakhs to INRs. 15.48 Lakhs, we can expect the Tata Punch EV price in Nepal to sit around the price of the 2024 Tata Nexon EV.

Tata Punch EV will launch in mid or late 2024. Interestingly, they may also unveil it at the NADA Auto Show 2024 for the Nepali Market.

Tata Punch EV rivals its own Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400 EV.

Nexon EV provides better power output and more torque compared to Punch EVs. It also has additional features like rear AC vents. On the other side, Mahindra XUV400 EV features a powerful 110 kW eclectic motor and reaches 0-100 Km/h in just 8.3 seconds.

However, the Punch EV is better in various aspects such as the brand-new EV Architecture from Tata (Acti.Ev), battery capacity, lesser running cost, and more.

The price would determine the market response of Punch EV in the Nepali market. Nonetheless, Punch is likely to make a good overall impression on the buyers.
