Suzuki Gixxer 250 Coming Soon in Nepal

We all know how popular Suzuki Gixxer 160 is in the Nepali market. Among the top sellers, Gixxer has set a hallmark for being a combination of performance, mileage, and affordability. Likewise, Gixxer SF also lives up to its name like its siblings.

However, both motorcycles are under the 160cc category. We’ve been demanding Suzuki for years, for a much more powerful motorcycle under the Gixxer category. Seems like our prayers have finally been answered! With reports suggesting that Suzuki Gixxer 250 is underway for a launch in 2019.

Suzuki Burgman won’t be the only new launch from Suzuki. According to reports, it is being set up for launch in April next year, following its launch in India. And, Suzuki Gixxer 250 price in Nepal is expected to exceed Rs. 4 Lakhs.

More about Suzuki Gixxer 250

Although Suzuki is yet to release the complete spec sheet for the motorcycle, few generic specs have been circulating. It will be powered by a 248cc FI Engine, along with a 6-speed transmission. It will generate up to 25BHP of max power and 20Nm of max torque. Furthermore, it comes with standard KYB telescopic suspension on the front and adjustable KYB monoshock suspension on the rear. Modern safety features like Dual-channel ABS will be included. Moreover, you’ll get an all-digital instrument cluster.

Talking about the design, it follows in the footsteps of its sibling; Gixxer 160. However, Gixxer 250 looks much more aggressive, beefy, and sporty in comparison. The design does have a resemblance to its rival Yamaha FZ 25. Lastly, Gixxer 250 is expected to come in two variants: Naked and Fully-Faired (SF). Although, the naked variant looks very appealing.

Thoughts

Much of the motorcycle has been kept under wrap, the whole idea of new Gixxer is surely exciting. You know what to expect when it comes to Gixxer. You get a refined engine, superior build, and overall top-notch quality So more likely, Gixxer 250 will deliver as its predecessors did.

I hope that the design language will be carried over to its 160cc sibling, where it is yet to receive any major revamp. Being a 250cc motorcycle, I expect it go head on against competition like Yamaha FZ 25 and KTM Duke 250. But the question remains, will it be enticing enough? Especially, when the market is oversaturated with sporty, performance motorcycles. Well, that remains to be seen.
