On November 19, the third edition of Seedstars Kathmandu was successfully conducted. Out of the eight finalists, Foodmario: a platform that connects home cooks with customers was declared as the winner of the event. Foodmario will be representing Nepal in the regional Seedstars Summit in Bangkok and Seedstars World in Switzerland.
Currently running its fifth edition, Seedstars World is one of the largest startup competitions in the emerging market. Each year the Seedstars team takes off for a 9-month world tour in search of early-stage startups around the world. This year around 8000 startups applied around the world, from which 900 startups were selected to pitch their idea.
75 local winners have been chosen around the world that will be participating in one of the five regional summits. The regional summits aim to unite all the local winners of each region to network with the regional investors, mentors, and corporates.
The local winners participating in the Seedstars World will compete to get up to $1 Million investment.
Seedstars Kathmandu is one of the 75 local competition held around the world. Organized by Unlimited Technology Private Limited, in association with UNDP Nepal and Wai Wai, the competition got its 2018 winner on 19th November. 73 startups in total registered for the event out of which, eight startups, Foodmario, Safa Luga, Kotha Rent, Cheap Trip Nepal, Fohor Malai, Smart Maka, Naya Jagir, and Seknox were selected to pitch their ideas in front of the jury members.
