As the year 2023 comes to an end, Samsung announced the Samsung Galaxy A25 5G in several countries including India. Serving as the successor to the Galaxy A24, the phone is now available in Nepal as well.

Design

At this point, all Samsung phones look the same. The Galaxy A25 too looks identical to the Galaxy A24 at a glance from the back with its minimalist triple vertically oriented camera rings.

One new design change is that the volume and power buttons on the right side sit on a raised frame and Samsung is calling it “Key Island.” The back of the design also features a grid-like pattern.

Samsung is still sticking with the dated Infinity-U design on the front for the selfie camera instead of the modern punch-hole camera.

Display

The A25 5G sports a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution. One notable upgrade is the 120Hz refresh rate support, up from 90Hz. The phone also comes with “Vision Booster” technology and “Eye Comfort Shield” feature to reduce eye fatigue.

The display has a rated peak brightness of 1000 nits and has relatively large bezels surrounding it.

Hardware

Samsung has decided to include its in-house Exynos 1280 chipset on the Galaxy A25, enabling it to support 5G. It’s the same processor available on 2022’s phones like the Galaxy M33 and Galaxy A53.

The Exynos 1280 has two 2.4GHz ARM Cortex-A78 CPU cores, six 2.0GHz ARM Cortex-A55 CPU cores, and the ARM Mali-G68 GPU clocked at 1GHz.

The chipset is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128/256GB storage.

Camera

The Galaxy A25 5G features a triple-camera setup, including a primary 50MP camera with an f/1.8 aperture and OIS. The 2MP macro camera remains unchanged, while the ultrawide camera has been upgraded from 5MP to 8MP.

The selfie camera remains the same at 13MP. The A25 5G also sees an improvement in video recording capabilities, now capable of shooting 4K videos at 30fps, compared to its predecessor, which was limited to 1080p.

In terms of battery and charging, the Samsung Galaxy A25 5G has the same standard 5000mAh battery and 25W fast charging support. The charger is not provided with the phone.

Out of the box, the phone runs on the latest Android 14 topped with One UI 6.
