Let’s imagine a simple scenario. There’s a 7-Seater SUV with enough space, enough power, and most of the premium level features.
Am I talking about Mahindra Marazzo?
Nope. I’m talking about something more affordable. An SUV that offers all that, but at an affordable price. I’m not talking about something in a distant future. Rather, I’m talking about something that is already here.
Recently, Renault Triber was launched in India with that exact viewpoint. It is a 7-seater MPV that resembles its popular sibling, Renault Kwid. However, it goes much more into the “premium” category, competing against the likes of Toyota Rush, Hyundai Creta, Mahindra Scorpio, etc.
Note: I know I have used the word “affordable” defining the Renault Triber. However, please keep in mind that it is affordable in the context of other premium SUVs in Nepal.
Renault Triber Overview
Renault Triber is powered by 1.0L BR10 Petrol Engine, mated to 5-speed Manual or 5-speed AMT. Moreover, it can generate a max power of 72HP and a max torque of 96Nm. As of this writing, there is no official word on “Diesel Engine” variant.
Talking about the styling, you will see a sort-of design familiarity, previously seen in Renault Captur. You will get a new projector headlight, the roof rails, a clamshell bonnet, a squared-off rear section, a new silver grille, and 15-inch alloy wheels. On the other hand, you get a much more masculine design. Despite with a 7-seater, you get a much better-looking SUV over the traditional MPV design.
Renault Triber Features
On the inside, Renault Triber features a newly designed dual-tone finish dashboard. It gets 8-inch Infotainment System with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Furthermore, it also gets a 3.5-inch LCD instrument cluster, replacing the traditional dashboard.
Interestingly, Renault Triber is quite a modular vehicle. It gets a “Five + Two” seating arrangements where the third row is removable! Yes, it will actually allow the consumers to remove the entire third row when needed. So, the limited cargo storage will be a thing of the past!
Talking about the safety, you will get an Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), rear sensors, dual airbags, and speed warning system. However, the higher variant will get a reverse rear camera.
Will Renault Triber Launch in Nepal?
Yes! Renault Triber is going to launch in Nepal. Currently, the plans are underway to bring Renault Triber in Nepal. As for the pricing, Renault Triber price in Nepal is still anybody’s guess. However, compared to modern SUVs and premium hatchbacks, the overall price range is going to be affordable. So, Renault is going for the affordability as one of the main selling points.
According to the on-going rumors, it will be unveiled in Nepal by the end of August. So that means that at NADA Auto Show 2019, Renault Triber will be showcased in Nepal. Whether that will be the case, remains to be seen.
So far, this brings us to two cars expected to be showcased at NADA Auto Show 2019: Tata Altroz and Renault Triber.
