Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G Overview
Design
The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G looks significantly different from its predecessor. Now, it has a large squircle camera island on the back, whereas the Note 13 Pro+ had three independent camera cutouts. The middle frame on this phone is curved — a step away from the flat frames on the previous phone.
This phone has two material choices for its back panel: Vegan leather with the Lavender Purple colour, and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i on the Frost Blue and Midnight Black options.
While the Nepali audience missed out on the leather finish last year, that will not be the case this year. The phone is also IP68-rated against dust and water exposure.
Display
For display, the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ has a 6.67-inch curved AMOLED panel with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection on top. It stretches 1.5K (1,220 x 2,712 pixels) in resolution and maintains a pixel density of 446PPI.
Additionally, you get a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, a peak brightness of up to 3,000 nits, and a touch sampling rate of up to 480Hz. The instantaneous touch sampling rate is even higher at 2,560Hz on the Redmi Note 14 Pro+.
Furthermore, it is a 12-bit panel with DCI-P3 colour coverage, 1,920Hz PWM dimming, and 20,000-level brightness adjustment. The display is TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light (Hardware solution), Flicker Free, and Circadian Friendly certified.
On top of all that, the phone comes with Wet Touch technology to maintain responsiveness even when used with wet, oily, or soapy fingers.

Hardware
Inside, the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G packs the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 — a debut for this processor. This chipset does not offer any sort of upgrade over the Dimensity 7200 Ultra we saw on the 13 Pro+.
Looking at the hardware specifications and AnTuTu scores, it appears to be a downgrade. Contrarily, it does get the better of the MediaTek chipset on Geekbench 6. All in all, both chipsets more or less stand on a similar pedestal in terms of performance.
Other than that, the 14 Pro+ is available with up to 12GB memory and 512GB storage. This may sound alright, but once you dig deeper you will notice that RAM and ROM both have been downgraded. Previously they were LPDDR5X and UFS 3.1 respectively, and now they are LPDDR4X and UFS 2.2.
Meanwhile, the vapour chamber on this thing has been enlarged to 5,000mm2 from 4,000mm2. As a result, it should better cool the phone and help maintain sustained performance.
Cameras
Optics-wise, you are looking at the same thing as last year. You get a 200MP OIS main camera coupled with 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro snapper.
This means we and the rest of the globe are missing out on the high-end Light Fusion 800 sensor on the primary camera and a 50MP Telephoto lens, the Chinese and Indian audiences got to enjoy on their version of the Redmi Note 14 Pro+.
The front camera on the other hand has now been upped to 20MP from the 16MP on the 13 Pro+.
Like any other recent phone, this phone also brings a suite of image-related AI features. This includes the likes of AI Eraser Pro, AI Image Expansion, AI Bokeh, AI Cutout, AI Film, AI Beautify, and so on.
Battery and AI
The Redmi Note 14 Pro+’s battery is a 5,110mAh traditional lithium-ion cell with 120W HyperCharge support. While the cell capacity did increase from the previous iteration, it isn’t nearly as impressive as the 6,200mAh silicon-carbide monstrosity on the Indian and Chinese variants.
Why this discrimination to the global variant? We have no idea!
Moving on to the software side of things, the phone boots on Xiaomi’s in-house HyperOS. The standout feature of the Redmi Note series’ top dog is the AI features it comes bundled with. It includes the likes of AI Interpreter, AI Notes, AI Subtitles, and AI Recorder.
On top of that, Google Gemini is also being integrated into the phone allowing for features like Gemini Extensions, Overlay, Circle to Search, and Image Generation.
All these AI features require an internet connection to function.
Redmi Note 14 Pro Plus 5G Price in Nepal and Availability
The Redmi Note 14 series launched on 13 January 2025 in Nepal. The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G price in Nepal is Rs 49,999 for the 8/256GB and Rs. 54,999 for the 12/512GB trim. It is available for purchase at all the authorised outlets across the country.
Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G | Price in Nepal |
---|---|
8/256GB | Rs. 49999 |
12/512GB | Rs. 54999 |
While the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ introduced jaw-dropping features for its price point, the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G does not maintain the same momentum.
Xiaomi appears to be aware of this, which is likely why the price hike has been relatively modest. Beyond the incremental upgrades, the standout feature of this phone is the inclusion of AI features seen in flagship phones last year.
