Realme GT 6T price in Nepal is Rs. 65,999 for the sole 12GB/512GB variant. It comes in two colorways: Green and Silver.

Realme has made a comeback in the GT series after 2 years with the Realme GT 6T. It has a semi-flagship chipset in the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3, a 6000nits display, 120W charging, and a 50MP main camera.

With the aforementioned spec sheet, it looks set to take the premium mid-range by storm. But is it as good as it looks on paper? Let’s find out!

I’m Anmol Shrestha, and this is my Realme GT 6T review.

Realme GT 6T Review

Middling Design

  • 162.00 x 75.10 x 8.65 mm
  • 191 g
  • Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2
Realme GT 6T Rear Panel
Design

Realme GT 6T inherits much of its design from the Realme GT 6. While it may not exude a premium feel, it certainly isn’t lacking in quality.

The front and the back seamlessly blend into the middle frame, providing a comfortable grip. The back features a dual-material finish, with the camera module sporting a nano-level mirror coating while the rest of the back is crafted using Misty AG Process. It’s important to note that both the back and the frame are made of plastic.

The left side of the frame is clean, while the top houses an IR Blaster and a speaker hole for the secondary speaker. At the bottom, you’ll find a speaker outlet, USB Type-C port, microphone, and dual SIM slot. However, there’s no 3.5mm audio jack.

Realme GT 6T looks decent but i would not call it attractive.

The buttons on the right side of the frame are responsive and tactile, offering a satisfying feel. Similarly, the under-display optical fingerprint reader is both fast and accurate—no complaints there.

The front of the phone curves gently at the edges, giving it a clean look with minimal bezels. Although the top bezel and bottom chin are present, they aren’t overly large. The front glass is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2, but it’s worth noting that the phone lacks an official IP rating. For an upper mid-range phone, that’s a bit disappointing.

Suboptimal Performance

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 (4 nm)
  • Octa-core (1×2.8 GHz Cortex-X4 & 4×2.6 GHz Cortex-A720 & 3×1.9 GHz Cortex-A520)
  • Adreno 732
  • 512GB 12GB RAM

Gaming

The Realme GT 6T is powered by the relatively new Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset. While having a new chipset is usually a positive, in this case, it is slightly tricky. The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 has yet to be fully optimized, which is one of the weaknesses of the Realme GT 6T.

Realme GT 6T tops benchmarks but dissapoints in gaming.

However, the phone performs well in everyday use. The 4nm chipset, paired with 512GB of storage and 12GB of RAM, provides ample power for daily tasks. The Realme GT 6T handles UI navigation, app launching, multitasking, and social media browsing effortlessly.

In benchmark tests like ANTUTU 10, GeekBench 6, and 3DMark WildLife, the Realme GT 6T excels, even outperforming the Snapdragon 8S Gen 3 found in the Honor 200 Pro. However, when it comes to gaming performance, the experience is a bit different.

Gaming

In our testing, Realme GT 6T started smoothly in Genshin Impact with graphics set to “Medium” and frame limit set to “60″. The gameplay was smooth as the average fps hovered around 55-60. Following this, the fps dropped below 50fps after 5 mins of gameplay. Simultaneously, the temperature also reached a peak of 45 degrees. In the end, it managed an average fps of 49 in 60 minutes of gameplay.

Similarly, we played PUBG Mobile with “Smooth” graphics and “Extreme+” fps setting. Previously, GT 6T did not support 90fps in PUBG Mobile but now it supports 90FPS (Extreme+). I was glad to find out that it is getting optimized for PUBG but the gameplay is far from what it should be. I only got an average FPS of 62.5 in an hour of gameplay. Realme GT 6T hit 90fps at the start but it gradually dropped down to 70 after 2-3 minutes and eventually settled around 60fps.

In comparison, Infinix GT 20 Pro with Dimensity 8200 Ultimate performs much better in both Genshin Impact and PUBG Mobile with significantly higher average fps.

To conclude, Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 still needs more optimization to fully realize its full potential, especially in gaming performance.

Good Cameras

  • Rear Camera: 50MP, f/1.9, (wide), PDAF, OIS
    • 8 MP, f/2.2, (ultrawide), AF
  • Front Camera: 32 MP, f/2.5 (wide)

Camera

The photography experience on the Realme GT 6T did not disappoint us. The 50MP Sony LYT-600 is a pretty good sensor paired with an average 8MP ultrawide camera. Likewise, the 32MP selfie camera is also pretty impressive.

Good Main Camera

The main camera captures good details with a wide dynamic range and adequate sharpness. It is a fast shooter with consistent exposure and slighlty boosted colors. I noticed that images look a bit dull in overcast conditions, but overall it is a good shooter.

Ultrawide Camera

The ultrawide camera is not as good as the main camera though. Images look soft, lack sharpness, and noise is evident even in daylight. For the price, I expected the ultrawide camera to be better. Nonetheless, it is not completely bad, it produces decent colors and consistent exposure.

Front Camera

The selfie camera captures nice photos with good details. The photos from the front camera look better than the ultrawide photos. The 32MP retains good colors and the face tone is also commendable. The photos do not look artificially sharpened, the selfie camera is good.

Videos

  • 4k@60fps
  • 8K@24fps

The Realme GT 6T supports video recording up to 4K at 60fps from the main camera. The ultrawide camera is limited to 1080p 30fps whereas the front camera can capture videos at 4k30fps.

4k videos from main camera are crisp but it struggles to change focus while panning.

In terms of video quality, the main camera is quite good but it does have a problem. Videos recorded in 4K using the main camera have a wide dynamic range, well-balanced exposure, and decent details. However, I found that it is not good at switching focus. Sometimes, the camera would not properly focus the subject in front, rather the background was in focus. But this problem could likely be solved with a software update.

The 4k footage does not support EIS but 4k videos have decent stabilization with the help of OIS. At 1080p the EIS kicks in to produce smooth and stabilized videos. But it comes with a cost, the 1080p footages are cropped to get better stabilization.

Like the photos, ultrawide videos are poor with low detail and low sharpness. The video looks flat with lots of noise. In hindsight, I found 4k videos from the selfie camera to be crisp with nice detail and good colors. Similar to the main camera, it supports EIS at 1080p only.

LTPO Display

  • 6.78 inches LTPO AMOLED
  • 1264 x 2780 pixels
  • 120Hz refresh rate
  • 6000 nits (peak), 1000 nits (typ), 1600 nits (HBM)
Realme GT 6T Display
Display

Realme GT 6T has a fully decked-out display on paper. It is a 1.5k, 120Hz refresh rate, 8T AMOLED panel. Moreover, Realme calls it a 6000nit Hyper Display as it boasts a whopping 6000 nits peak brightness.

The peak brightness is just a number and it does not represent actual brightness. The HBM is a better representation of actual perceived brightness which stands at 1600 nits for the GT 6T. In other words, GT 6T has good brightness, one can easily use it outdoors under sunlight.

The display panel is sharp but i found colors to be a bit dull.

That said, I was not pleased with the color reproduction, slightly more saturation would have made it more pleasing, to be honest. At the same price bracket, Samsung’s display panels are better to look at.

Regardless, Realme hasn’t skimped on refresh rate optimization on the GT 6T. You can fully utilize the 120hz refresh rate on almost all of the apps. As a result, the display feels super smooth. It also has PRO XDR support which provides a better in-app photo viewing experience.

Battery, Speaker, and Haptics

  • 5200mAh
  • 120W wired charging
Realme GT 6T Battery
Fast Charging

Realme has gone all out with fast charging- a blazing fast 120W GAN wired fast charger is included in the box.

GT 6T is one of the fastest charging phone in its price segment.

The 120W fast charger charges the phone up to 50% in just 10 minutes and up to 100% in just 27 minutes. In addition, the 5500mAh battery provides enough juice for more than a day. Therefore, the endurance of GT 6T is probably one of the best in the business.

The dual speaker of GT 6T is above average. The speaker sounds loud and clear with a decent thump. Moving on, the X-axis linear motor of GT 6T provides good haptic feedback.

Software

  • Android 14
  • Realme UI 5.0
Android 14
OS

Realme UI has been a good package with lots of extra features in recent years. This trend continues on the GT 6T with Realme UI 5.0. It also gets some AI features thanks to the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3’s AI capability.

Relame GT 6T comes with Android 14 out of the box along with Realme UI 5.0. In addition, Realme promises 4 years of major OS upgrades and security updates.

The new AI features on the GT 6T are – AI Smart Loop and AI Screen Recognition. Both features can be activated with simple gestures after which the AI algorithm analyzes the content on the screen. It can read English and Chinese and extract images. Also, the smart loop feature allows you to send selected images or text to other apps.

It also has an AI Smart Removal feature that helps remove unnecessary objects or persons from the photos. Likewise, you can also use various Air Gestures to control the phone but I found the gestures hard to pull off.

In addition to all the AI features, Realme has the Flash Capsule feature which is Realme’s version of dynamic island. It works for some apps like Voice Recorder, Timer, and Battery Charging Status. If you start voice recording and then minimize the app, the status will appear on the notification bar like a mini capsule. You can interact with the capsule to perform various actions.

Likewise, you get access to the full range of Realme’s customization like accent colors, icons, charging animations, unlock animations, and more.
