The Poco X5 Pro is a direct successor to last year’s Poco X4 Pro, which sadly was not made available in Nepal.

It was unveiled globally on February 2023 along with the vanilla Poco X5. The vanilla model was not made available in Nepal.

The highlights of the X5 Pro are that it is powered by the Snapdragon 778G, has a 120Hz 10-bit AMOLED screen, a 108MP main camera, and has 67W fast charging support.

These specifications and features are identical to the Redmi 12 Pro Speed Edition that was launched in China in December 2022. So it is the rebranded Redmi 12 Pro Speed Edition for the global market.

Poco X5 Pro Overview

Design

The Poco X5 Pro 5G has an all-plastic design with a flat frame and flat rear and front panels. The top half of the back has the familiar Poco branding inside the huge box that also houses the rear camera setup.

With a 7.9mm thickness and 181g weight, the Poco X5 Pro is the thinnest and lightest phone in the company’s X line.

The phone comes in three colors: yellow, blue, and black. All of them have a color-matching power button, which is a nice touch, that also doubles as a fingerprint sensor.

Located on the top side of the phone, you will find a 3.5mm headphone jack, a microphone, a speaker, and an IR blaster. Additionally, this phone boasts a dual speaker system, with the second speaker positioned next to the USB-C port on the bottom.

Display

The phone sports a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 900 nits under HBM. It supports up to 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate.

What’s more, the display is capable of producing up to 1.07 billion color palettes thanks to its 10-bit color depth, allowing it to obtain HDR 10+ certification. Dolby Vision is also supported, and Poco claims it has a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut.

Moreover, the display features 1920Hz PWM dimming technology for reducing eye strain caused by invisible screen flickering in OLED displays.

A small punch-hole cutout at the top houses the selfie camera, and the symmetrical bezels provide a pleasing aesthetic. For durability, the display is topped with Gorilla Glass 5.

Hardware

The X5 Pro comes equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset. Built on a 6nm technology, it has three CPU clusters. Single Arm Cortex-A78 at up to 2.4GHz, three Arm Cortex-A78 clocked at up to 2.2GHz, and four up to 1.9GHz Arm Cortex-A55.

The graphics are handled by Adreno 642L GPU. The phone with 6/8GB LPDDR4X RAM combined with 128/256GB UFS 2.2 storage. Furthermore, it has an X-axis linear vibration motor.

Camera

The smartphone features a triple camera setup comprising a 108MP primary camera8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. The front has a 16MP selfie shooter.
