Poco has launched its new gaming phone the Poco F4 GT in the global market. The device should launch in Nepal soon.

The phone is a successor to last year’s impressive Poco F3 GT. The Poco F3 GT was a great gaming phone of 2021, with its premium gaming aesthetic, maglev shoulder trigger buttons, 120Hz AMOLED display, and MediaTek’s high-end Dimensity 1200 chipset.

The Poco F4 GT brings the same magnetic pop-up buttons, premium metal body, and 120Hz AMOLED display. On top of that, it now comes with Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and 120W fast charging. Let’s explore other specifications and features of the Poco F4 GT!

Poco F4 GT Overview

Design

The Poco F4 GT is a gaming phone with a metallic frame and glass back. On the right side, there are two magnetic shoulder buttons along with a power button that also doubles as a fingerprint sensor.

The volume buttons and the SIM card tray are on the left, while the bottom houses a USB-C port. There is also an IR blaster on the top, but no headphone jack.

The rectangular rear camera has RGB lights that light up when charging, receiving calls/messages, or game turbo mode is on. Like in its predecessor, the LED flash shape resembles lightning.

Display

It comes with a large 6.67-inch Full HD+ (1080 x 2400) AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 480Hz touch sampling rate support. It’s a 10-bit colour panel, producing over a billion colours, that supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.

The display has 800 nits of brightness in HBM. It has a small punch-hole cutout for the camera and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus.

The Poco F4 GT is powered by 2022’s flagship processor Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.

The processor is built on a 4nm process and is designed in a tri-cluster structure. The structure is comprised of a single powerful Arm Cortex-X2 flagship-core (3.0GHz), three performance and efficiency balanced Cortex-A710 big-cores (2.5GHz), and four power-efficient Cortex-A510 little-cores (1.8GHz).

For graphics, it comes with Adreno 730 GPU. Poco introduced LiquidCooling Technology 3.0, its latest cooling solution, with the Poco F4 GT to cool down the device. The solution features two vapour chambers of 4850 sq. mm.

The processor is paired with 8/12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128/256GB UFS 3.1 storage. Moreover, it has a quad-speaker setup with two tweeters and two woofers.

Camera

Poco F4 GT has a triple-camera setup comprising a 64MP Sony IMX686 main camera sensor, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera.

The cutout on the front houses a 20MP selfie camera. The device can shoot video at up to 4K at 60fps.

Battery and OS

The device comes with a dual-cell 4700mAh battery. It’s 300mAh smaller than its predecessor. However, it comes with 120W fast charging support that, according to Poco, charges the device in 17 minutes from 2% to 100%. To make it easier to game while charging, the phone comes with an L-shaped charging cable.

Addressing users who charge the device at night, it has AdaptiveCharge feature. The feature learns the user’s charging routine, quickly charges the phone to 80% and then stops. And when the user is about to wake up, it charges the remaining 20%.

In terms of software, the smartphone boots on MIUI 13 on top of Android 12.

The Poco F4 GT price in Nepal is expected to start at Rs. 80,000. It’s very expensive compared to last year’s Poco F3 GT. The device’s launch date in Nepal is yet to be announced.
