OPPO Reno15 F Gets a New 8/256GB Variant in Nepal at Rs. 63,999

 HIGHLIGHTS

  • The OPPO Reno15 F price in Nepal starts at Rs. 63,999 for the 8/256 GB variant.
  • The phone is powered by Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 and features a massive 7000mAh Si/C battery.
  • It features a 50MP main camera and an 8MP ultrawide shooter.

OPPO’s Reno F lineup hasn’t quite hit the mark in recent years. Unlike the main Reno series, the F variants have often felt underwhelming, offering little excitement.

The OPPO Reno15 F launched earlier this year, and unsurprisingly, it struggled to stand out, much like its predecessor, the Reno14 F. Now, about half a year later, OPPO Nepal is bringing in a more affordable variant of the same phone. The question is, will this finally make the Reno15 F worth considering, or is it already too late?

Now that we’ve covered the price, let’s dive into the details of the OPPO Reno15 F.

OPPO Reno15 F 5G Overview

Visually, the Reno15 F plays it safe, appearing to be a near copy of the Reno14 F, retaining the same dimensions, form factor, and the familiar squircle camera module. But the improved build quality makes this phone more interesting.

The aluminum frame and one-piece sculpted glass back feel like overdue upgrades, making the phone feel far more premium than its predecessor. Additionally, I’m pleased to see that the IP68/69 rating has been carried over.

It’s surprising to see the Reno15 F carry over the same 6.57-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display from the Reno14 F. While it’s still a capable panel, the modest 1,400 nits (HBM) brightness could have been improved. Though Oppo seems to think otherwise. Adding to the letdown, there’s no mention of any HDR support either.

The OPPO Reno15 F features Corning Gorilla Glass+ protection on the front, while the rear is reinforced with Dragontrail DR-Star D+ glass.

Performance-wise, there’s little to get excited about, as the Reno15 F sticks with the same Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset from the Reno14 F. The phone is available in an 8/256GB and a 12/512GB memory configuration.

The Reno15 F sticks with the same 50MP main, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro sensor on the rear as the Reno14 F. On the brighter side, the front-facing camera has been upgraded to a 50MP unit with autofocus, and it can now capture 4K videos at 30fps, just like the main sensor.

Unlike other departments, battery and charging get a major boost with a massive 7000 mAh battery and 80W SUPERVOOC wired fast charging, up from 45W.

The Reno15 F runs the latest Android 16 with OPPO’s ColorOS 16 on top. However, Oppo hasn’t clarified the software update roadmap, leaving questions about how long this phone will receive major OS upgrades.

Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, and the same seems true for the Reno15 F. Much like last year’s Reno14 F, this isn’t really an upgrade. It’s more of a refresh, bringing new color options while leaving most of the hardware and design largely unchanged.

Unfortunately, the new 8/256GB variant doesn’t do much to change my opinion either. Sure, it lowers the starting price, and the larger battery is a nice addition. But at its core, it’s still powered by a first-generation Snapdragon chip that debuted four years ago. That immediately puts it behind rivals like the Infinix Note 60 and POCO M8 Pro, both of which offer significantly better performance while costing under Rs. 60,000.

If it’s the 12/512GB variant that caught your eye, I’d still point you towards the Redmi Note 15 Pro. It offers the same generous memory configuration alongside a much more capable processor, making it the better overall buy.
