OnePlus Buds 3 with up to 49dB ANC and 44H Playtime Coming Soon in Nepal

The OnePlus Buds 3 was announced alongside the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R. The Buds 3 will be available in Nepal on the month of March.

OnePlus Buds 3 is a flagship earbud with an array of features such as dual drivers, active noise cancellation, spatial audio, multiple EQ modes, LDHC 5.0 support, a good battery life, and ingress protection.

OnePlus Buds 3 Overview

Design

Design wise, the OnePlus Buds 3 resembles last year’s OnePlus Buds 2 Pro except for the color.

The case has a curved rectangular cushion shape with soft matte finish while the earbuds have a shiny aluminum stem with matte plastic sound port and silicone tips.

The TWS are lightweight at 4.8 g per earbud, and you also get three sizes of silicon earbud tips to choose from.

The earbuds are IP55 water and dust resistant, whereas the charging case is IPX4-rated for moisture protection. The touch control also includes a sliding touch feature to control the volume.

Features

The OnePlus Buds 3 has 10.4 mm woofer and 6 mm tweeter dual dynamic drivers with their own “BassWave” algorithm. The minimum latency is claimed to be 94ms.

It has Hi-Res audio certification, so it produces accurate reproduction of digital 24-bit/ 96kHz media files into acoustic signals and gives a clearer tone and deeper sound.

You also get up to 49dB of active noise cancellation in 4000Hz range where you can also choose between 3 levels of noise cancellation intensities.

For calling, you get an AI-based environmental noise cancellation paired with three microphones: FF-mic to detect ambient noise, FB-mic to detect the sound being played, and Talk-mic to capture your voice.

Battery and Connectivity

The TWS earbuds carry a 58mAh battery individually and the charging case carries a 520mAh battery. The claimed total playtime is up to 44 hours, but the playtime in different scenarios is presented below:

• ANC off, 50% volume, AAC:
  • Earbuds: 10 hours
  • Earbuds + case: 44 hours
• ANC on/Transparency Mode, 50% volume, AAC
  • Earbuds: 6.5 hours
  • Earbuds + case: 28 hours

Likewise, OnePlus Buds 3 has a USB Type-C charging port. A 10-minute charge is said to boost 2 hours of battery life in earbuds and 7 hours of battery life in earbuds and case combined, with ANC off, at 50% volume, using AAC.

The buds support Bluetooth 5.3 with LHDC, AAC and SBC codecs. Yes, the earbuds also support LDHC 5.0 codec to stream music at up to 900kbps, but at the expense of higher battery consumption.

The earbuds also feature Google Fast Pair, Google’s proprietary standard for fast pairing devices in close proximity using Bluetooth Low Energy.

Lastly, the OnePlus Buds 3 supports connecting to two devices simultaneously for quick and easy switching. The supporting application HeyMelody is available both on Android and iOS.

The OnePlus Buds 3 price in Nepal is Rs. 12,490. It will soon be available in online platforms and retail stores across the country.
