Samsung finally launched the Galaxy Buds FE alongside the Samsung Galaxy S24 series in Nepal. Although these earbuds were launched back in October 2023 globally, they have finally arrived here as well.

The FE, which stands for Fan’s Edition, has been Samsung’s way of offering more affordable versions of their popular flagship devices by reducing features, using different materials, or adjusting specifications. So, the Galaxy Buds FE brings premium sound to your pocket but at an affordable price.

Samsung Galaxy Buds FE Overview

Design

The Galaxy Buds FE boasts a new wing-tip design to prevent them from easily falling off. They arrive in two colors: Graphite and Mystic White. The outer case of either choice is white, and only when you open the case, do you see the inner of the case and the earbuds in graphite color.

Inside the case, you will get an earbud battery indicator placed between the two earbuds. The earbuds have a conveniently sized indented touch sensor area to control music and calls.

You will also get different sizes of replaceable wing tips and ear tips inside the box. Each earbud houses 3 microphones for voice capture and noise cancellation purposes. But it only gets an IPX2 rating.

Features

The Galaxy Buds FE features Active Noise Cancellation for suppressing external noise. Users can select between 3 modes: ANC on, ANC off, and Ambient mode. The Ambient mode amplifies the surrounding sounds to hear traffic, conversations, and other important sounds while wearing the buds.

For better calling experience, the Buds FE has 3 microphones (2 outer + 1 inner) to accurately capture your voice. The “Personalized Beamforming” technology automatically adjusts according to the user’s wearing pattern to locate your voice optimally. And the “Deep Neural Network” technology is used to filter out background noise from your voice.

Additionally, you can wake up Bixby and use voice commands directly from the earbuds to the phone.

Battery and Connectivity

In the battery segment, the Galaxy Buds FE carries a 60mAh battery in individual earbuds and a 479mAh battery in the charging case.

With this, Samsung states the following playtime and talk time with or without ANC:

  • ANC on: 6h (earbuds) and 21h (total)
  • ANC off: 8.5h (earbuds) and 30h (total)
• Talk Time:
  • ANC on: 3.5h (earbuds) and 13h (total)
  • ANC off: 4h (earbuds) and 14h (total)

For connection, the Buds FE supports Bluetooth v5.2 and is compatible with Android 8.0 or higher. The buds can be paired with the companion app “Galaxy Wearable” on Samsung devices, the Galaxy Buds App on Windows PC, and via Bluetooth on iOS devices.

They also have an “Auto Switch” feature that seamlessly switches the playback devices without any pause in the sound being played. Using the SmartThings Find feature, users can find the last location of earbuds on a map. Additionally, you can send a ‘Lost and Found’ message to the nearby Galaxy devices along with your contact information.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds FE price in Nepal is Rs. 14,999. The earbuds are now available for purchase across Nepal through Samsung-authorized retail shops.

In conclusion, the Samsung Galaxy Buds FE provides an ergonomic design with ANC and multiple technologies to improve the music listening and voice calling experience. This is an affordable TWS variant of the Galaxy Buds. You will also get a maximum of 30 hours of playback time. But even at this price range, Samsung did not provide a better IP rating than an IPX2 rating on this TWS.
