Nothing Phone 2a Plus Overview
Design
The Nothing Phone 2a Plus sticks with the same design as the Nothing Phone 2a, keeping that distinctive transparent back.
The standout feature, the Glyph Lights interface, continues to be a defining element of the phone and remains unchanged from the Nothing Phone 2a.
The dual horizontal cameras which Nothing calls anthropomorphic, resemble eyes that are set within a big NFC coil. The overall design gives off a, as Nothing puts it, “brain-like hub of intelligence and communication” look.
Other than that, elements of the phone like the volume and power buttons lie on the left and right side of the phone respectively, whereas the charging port, speaker grille, and SIM card tray lie on the underside of the phone.

Display
Now onto the display. The phone comes with a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel that’s protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5. The 10-bit panel has a resolution of 1084 x 2412 pixels which gives it a crisp pixel density of 395ppi.
The HDR10+ capable panel has a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz and a peak brightness of 1300 nits. Aside from that, the display includes an optical fingerprint sensor underneath for biometrically authenticating the user.
Hardware
On the inside, the smartphone packs a 4nm Mediatek Dimensity 7350 Pro processor that comes in a 2+6 configuration, making it an octa-core chip. The processor has 2x 3.0 GHz Cortex-A715 and 6x 2.0 GHz Cortex-A510 cores to handle all the apps and games that the user throws at it.
Besides the CPU, the processor also comes with a very capable Mali-G610 MC4 graphics processor to offload graphic-intense tasks. The phone also offers multiple memory options, available in 256GB with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM.
To cool down the processor, Nothing has included a 3200mm² vapor chamber and a 12000mm² graphite frame inside the Phone 2a Plus.
Besides that, with the integration of ChatGPT as the AI voice assistant, the phone ensures a good hands-free experience, and with the ‘Bespoke Widgets’ feature, you can include widgets on the home screen that give you a deeper level of customization and accessibility.
Cameras
Shifting the focus to the cameras, the Nothing Phone 2a Plus comes with triple, two on the back and one on the front, 50MP cameras.
The main 50MP camera has an f/1.9 aperture lens that supports PDAF and comes with OIS. Accompanying the main camera is a 50MP, f/2.2 ultrawide shooter that has a 114˚ FOV.
The 50MP selfie camera has an aperture of f/2.2 and comes with face unlock capability, adding an extra way of biometrically authenticating the user. Both the front and the rear cameras can record up to 4K at 30 frames per second.
Battery and OS
In terms of battery, the Phone 2a Plus comes packed with the same 5000mAh battery as the Phone 2a. What’s different is the bump in the charging speed of the battery which now supports 50W of fast charging instead of just 45W found in the Phone 2a.
The battery charges via a USB-C port and according to Nothing, the battery can charge up to 50% in 21 minutes and 100% in 56 minutes.
In terms of software, the phone runs on Android 14 with Nothing OS 2.6 skin applied on top. Nothing promises that the phone will receive 3 years of Android updates and 4 years of security patches in the Phone 2a Plus.
