Mahindra XUV 3XO is coming to Nepal.

Agni Group, the authorized distributor of Mahindra vehicles in Nepal, is expanding its XUV lineup with the addition of the new XUV 3XO.

The XUV 3XO is an updated version of the XUV 300, though it hardly shares any elements with its predecessor. 

Mahindra has struggled in the sub-compact SUV segment, with previous models like the Quanto, TUV100, and KUV100 failing to meet expectations.

However, the XUV 3XO marks a positive shift for Mahindra, boasting an appealing design, class-leading performance, and aggressive pricing.

Mahindra XUV 3XO Overview

Design

Starting from the front, the Mahindra XUV 3XO features large, vertically oriented headlights outlined by C-shaped DRLs.

The LED headlights are split into two sections, with an enclosed projector lamp at the top and an open projector lamp at the bottom, all encased in a sleek black accent.

The headlights flank the front grille, which spans the width of the 3XO and showcases the Mahindra logo and chrome teeth.

The bumper exhibits pronounced cuts and creases, adding to the vehicle’s aggressive appearance. Additionally, the contoured bonnet contributes to the muscular look of the car from the front.

From the side, the short overhangs of the Mahindra XUV 3XO emphasize its compact and sporty design.

The blacked-out roof and pillars contrast beautifully with the vibrant body color, creating a striking floating roof effect. The stylish 17-inch Diamond Cut Alloy wheels enhance the car’s visual appeal from the side, further complementing its dynamic profile.

At the rear, the XUV 3XO features a tailgate with clean lines, adorned with the XUV 3XO branding.

The tail lights are connected by a slim LED strip, adding to the vehicle’s modern and cohesive design. The robust rear bumper incorporates a diffuser and dual exhaust outlets, suggesting both power and performance.

Inside the Mahindra XUV 3XO, perforated white leatherette seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel add a touch of luxury. The dashboard, made of soft-touch materials with a textured finish, enhances the overall feel of the cabin.

Ambient lighting, provided by the segment-first Panoramic Sunroof, creates a welcoming atmosphere. The vehicle also includes a 10.25-inch Central Touchscreen and a 10.2-inch Instrument Cluster borrowed from the XUV700.

Additionally, a 7-speaker Harman Kardon Audio System delivers a high-quality sound experience.

Performance

Mahindra XUV 3XO is powered by a Turbocharged 1197cc, Inline-3 Cylinders, 4 Valves, DOHC engine. It generates a max power of 129 bhp at 5000 rpm and a max torque of 230 Nm at 1500 rpm.

It is mated to a 6-speed Automatic or Manual transmission with a 42-liter fuel tank capacity.

Interestingly, XUV 3XO features three different driving modes: Zip, Zap, and Zoom.

Additional Details

McPherson Strut with Anti-roll Bar and Twist Beam Suspension with Coil Spring handles the suspension duties.

The dimensions are 3990 mm in length, 1821 mm in width, and 1647 mm in height. And, the wheelbase sits at 2600mm.

XUV 3XO gets a 201 mm ground clearance. Moreover, the kerb weight is 1610 kg.

Lastly, the boot space is 364-liters.

The Mahindra XUV 3XO price in Nepal starts from Rs. 60.90 Lakhs to Rs. 66.65 Lakhs.

While several variants of the XUV 3XO are available globally, Nepal will receive the top-of-the-line XUV 3XO AX7L variant.

This variant will be offered in both Manual Transmission and Automatic Transmission options. Furthermore, the official launch and sales are anticipated to begin at the upcoming NADA Auto Show 2024.

With the XUV 3XO, Mahindra will be a popular option in the sub-compact SUV segment. To talk about competition, Hyundai Creta is a formidable contender.

In terms of pricing, the Creta ranges between Rs. 48.56 Lakhs and Rs. 77.56 Lakhs, offering 1.5L Petrol and 1.5L Diesel engines.

However, the XUV 3XO is priced between Rs. 60.90 Lakhs and Rs. 66.65 Lakhs and features a 1.2L turbocharged engine.

While the Creta provides daily-use features such as a larger boot space, ventilated seats, and paddle shifters, the XUV 3XO stands out with competitive features like a 5-star NCAP rating and advanced technology, all at a lower price than the Creta.

Mahindra has definitely upped their game with the new XUV 3XO. However, it remains to be seen how it performs against the leading SUV of Nepal, the Hyundai Creta.
