You don’t hear from Lava anymore. Established in 2009, Lava is a multi-national company based in India that had 8% of market share in Indian smartphone market. It was a recognizable name in Nepal too. But, because of its inadequate advertising and because of the market share being eaten by more of the big players such as Samsung, Huawei, and Xiaomi, the company has not been able to make a noticeable dent in the smartphone market in recent times.
But that doesn’t mean that Lava has stopped making phones. It still makes some decent handsets with its major focus on the budget smartphone market. And Ambe Group from Nepal is helping it sustain in the market by being the official distributor of Lava phones in Nepal.
Below, we have listed all the Lava phones still available on the shelves of Nepal today. We have included all the Lava mobiles price in Nepal and their specs so that you can make some smart purchasing decisions.
Lava Mobiles Price in Nepal
Lava R5
At the front, the Lava R5 has a 6.22 inch IPS LCD HD+ display. Like the Lava R3, I find the design of the R5 appealing. R5 feels modern, thanks to the notch at the top. Moving on, the R5 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 processor and Power VR graphics. This processor and GPU are combined with 4GB RAM.
The 4GB RAM is accompanied by 64GB internal storage. The phone comes with 13MP +5 MP f/2.0 dual rear cameras and a 16MP f/2.0 selfie shooter. Both the selfie shooter and the rear camera support portrait lighting feature with 6 different lightings for front camera and 4 different lightings for the rear camera. The battery on the Lava R5 is rated at 3260 mAh and it supports 10W fast charging.

LAVA R3 Note
At the front, the Lava R3 Note has a 6.22 inch IPS LCD HD+ display. Unlike other Lava smartphones, the design of the R3 Note appeals to me. R3 Note feels modern, thanks to the notch at the top. Moving on, the R3 Note is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 processor and Power VR graphics. This processor and GPU are combined with 3GB RAM.
Only one variant of the Lava R3 Note is coming to Nepal in terms of storage – the16GB model. It comes with a single 13MP f/2.0 single rear camera and an 8MP f/2.0 selfie shooter. Lava Iris 88
Lava Iris 88 fits right into the description of a smartphone of 2018. It has the elongated 18:9 aspect ratio with thin bezels. Inside, the phone is powered by an entry-level MediaTek processor. Games are no go, but normal day to day tasks and apps like calls, and Facebook will run pretty smoothly considering you aren’t downloading a large file in Chrome simultaneously. A 2GB RAM is pretty normal at this price and it helps the phone run smoothly but it won’t be good enough for extensive multitasking.
The cameras are yet to be tested but don’t expect to be amazed by the results. They will click the photo you want but how fast and how good remains to be seen. What’s great is that the phone comes with Android 8.1 out of the box which means you’ll get security updates and patches well into the future. The internal storage is a little on the low side though the 16GB is typical in the price range.
Lava Iris 88 Key Specifications
- Display: 5.45-inch HD+ (18:9) (720×1440) display

Lava Iris 65
The price of Iris 65 is the main attraction for the Lava Iris 65. But that’s about the only thing that can intrigue people to buy this phone. While an HD resolution in a phone below 10K is not bad, 8GB storage is atrociously low in 2019. Also the numbers on the cameras are not so great. CG OMEGA 6, which is priced similar to the Lava Iris 65, has a dual 12+2 MP cameras on the back. Also, it’s display uses IPS technology.
If you are looking for a no-frills phone that you want for just calling and texting, Lava Iris 65 might be worth taking a look. But, if you want to do something more, like use Facebook and YouTube, or Chrome, you should look at something that is more powerful than the Iris 65. Something with at least 2GB of RAM. Lava R3
Lava R3 is one of the most expensive phones you’d find on this list. It is also the best looking lava phone on this list. The Lava R3 comes with a 5.7-inch HD MediaTek MT6737 Processor which is an entry-level chipset. So, you aren’t getting that much power for your money. However, you are getting 3GB RAM. Everyday tasks like calling and Facebook will run fine but don’t think about gaming on this thing.
The screen is an HD screen with 18:9 aspect ratio that makes the phone feel modern. It comes with a 13 MP f/2.2 aperture rear shooter that is capable of shooting photos with bokeh effects. The 8 MP f/2.0 front-facing shooter is also capable of bokeh effects. The front camera also has a Face unlock feature that it calls the “Face ID”. So, you won’t have to tap your finger on the fingerprint sensor on the back everytime you unlock your phone. However, at Rs. 19,999, this phone feels overpriced for including such underpowered CPU.

Lava Iris 50
Lava Iris 50 is not a phone to buy if you are enthusiastic about buying your next phone. It has a very mediocre MediaTek Processor, an FWVGA screen which is not even of HD resolution. So, you will suffer in terms of performance and the processes you see won’t look so great on that screen. The cameras are not good performers. They click photos and that’s all we can say about them. The 2000mAh further trims down the reasons to buy this phone. A 2000mAh won’t last you a full day if you use your phone often on the day. If you are looking for a phone to buy under Rs. 10,000, check out our list of best smartphones under 10K.

Lava Iris 41
The Lava Iris 41 is a phone you can get in cheap. And 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage for a phone that costs Rs. 7499 is not bad. Don’t expect to get a smooth performance though. You need to understand that things will be slow and there will be numerous lags and stutters. Don’t expect to multitask, or play games on this phone. But if you are in the market for a phone to just call with, Lava Iris 41 might be just right for you.

Lava Iris 30
Don’t buy this phone if you want to use a smartphone. All this phone will be able to do is call and receive some text messages. Anything else will bring this to a crawl. And the battery backup on this thing is not so great. So, if all you want to do is call and text, buy a bar phone. But if you want something more, you’ll have to pay some more too. Have Your Say
This was the list of all the Lava mobiles price in Nepal. The price range Lava phones occupy is very narrow. Their most expensive phone is under 25K.
Our pick among the bunch would be the latest from Lava, the Lava R5. It has a decent price tag for a good set of specs. It performs admirably and doesn’t compromise much on design either.
