KTM Nepal unveiled its updated 2025 motorcycle lineup at the NIAMA Auto Show 2025. The event marked the launch of the KTM 390 Enduro R, alongside refreshed versions of the KTM 390 Adventure and KTM 250 Adventure.
Hansraj Hulaschand & Co., the authorized distributor for KTM motorcycles in Nepal, has officially presented these models at the first edition of the NIAMA Mobility Expo 2025.
The KTM 390 Enduro R is the third motorcycle built on KTM’s next-gen 390 platform, which began with the 390 Duke Gen 2. The model features the upgraded 399cc LC4c engine, a revised Trellis frame, and a dual-sport-oriented setup.
Designed to bridge the gap between adventure touring and city commuting, the 390 Enduro R offers a practical blend of capability and functionality.
While the “Enduro R” name might suggest a performance similar to KTM’s EXC series, the model focuses more on balance than hardcore off-road riding. Here, the “R” indicates its off-road ready capabilities, longer suspension travel, along with a 21-inch/18-inch tubed wheel setup.
And, this is where things get a bit confusing, as there are two versions of the 390 Enduro: Indian-spec and International-spec.
The engine and features are the same, but the India-spec model features a suspension travel of 200mm/205mm, an 860mm seat height, and a ground clearance of 253mm. In contrast, the International-spec model offers a 30mm/25mm longer suspension travel, 30mm larger seat height, and a 19mm higher ground clearance.
The international version of the bike feels much more in line with the “Enduro R” name than the Indian version. We reached out to KTM Nepal for confirmation, and it turns out Nepal will be getting the India-spec model for now. This leaves the door open for KTM Nepal to bring in the global-spec version later, especially since it has already been launched in the Indian market as well. For the time being, though, we’ll have to settle for what’s on offer.
What is the Price of the KTM 390 Enduro R in Nepal?
The KTM 390 Enduro R price in Nepal is Rs. 10 Lakhs.
With the latest pricing, the new Enduro R sits between the 390 Duke and the 390 Adventure. KTM has priced it aggressively, filling the gap between the more affordable but less reliable Chinese options and the ultra-premium Japanese offerings.
That said, KTM Nepal’s choice to launch the Enduro R Standard instead of the Global version feels like a calculated trade-off. The company confirmed that pricing was the key deciding factor. Bringing in the Global-spec model would have pushed the price up by Rs. 1 to 1.5 lakh purely because of its upgraded suspension setup. In the end, KTM Nepal chose to prioritize value over outright specs, making the Standard version the more accessible option for riders here.
The 390 Enduro R is part of KTM’s strategy to lead the sub-500cc dual-sport segment, building on the success of the 390 Duke and 390 Adventure. Can they achieve this? Let’s find out!

KTM 390 Enduro R Overview
Design
The KTM 390 Enduro R draws direct inspiration from the KTM 690 Enduro R, featuring a purpose-built, enduro-leaning design that emphasizes durability and off-road readiness. It is offered in a single color scheme: orange, white, and black, which is a signature KTM aesthetic.
It incorporates in-mold graphics and high-durability polypropylene (PP) plastic body panels, engineered for flexibility and long-term resistance to trail impacts.
The front section includes a high-mounted fender and a full LED headlamp unit, with integrated indicators positioned beside the headlight. There are USD fork guards that protect the inner suspension tubes from debris and damage.
It features a single-piece handlebar with circular mirrors, while adjustable clutch and brake levers are protected by robust knuckle guards. These elements showcase an interesting balance between features and practicality while enhancing both rider safety and ergonomics.
The exposed orange trellis frame continues to be a hallmark of KTM’s design language. Tank shrouds enhance the visual mass around the slim fuel tank, while the long, narrow single-piece seat supports active off-road riding positions. It is further improved by dual-position adjustable footrests that not only enhance grip but also further improve rider control.
The 390 Enduro R runs on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels. These are fitted with Mitas E07+ Enduro Trail tyres rated for 60% road and 40% off-road use, and capable of snow and mud clearance. These are tubed tyres by default, but can be converted to tubeless as per rider preference.
Thanks to the offset shock absorber mount, there is extra room for the low-mounted exhaust. Considering its dual-sports nature, KTM should have instead gone with an upswept pipe. It is a bit confusing since most dual-sports come with a high-mounted exhaust for optimized water crossing. Even the 690 Enduro R had a high-mounted one. However, KTM has opted for an underbelly exhaust system instead.
At the rear, the bike maintains a minimalist profile with a compact yet distinct LED taillight and neatly integrated LED indicators.
Instrument Cluster
The KTM 390 Enduro R is equipped with a 4.2-inch bonded glass TFT instrument cluster, featuring an anti-glare coating. KTM even throws in a USB Type-C charging port for good measure.
While more compact than previous KTM dashboards, it remains informative. Riders can access Ride modes, Turn-by-Turn Navigation, Music Controls, and Call Notifications (via KTM Connect). It can all be controlled through a 5-way joystick interface on the handlebars.
Notably, the display does not feature a traditional fuel level indicator. Instead, it alerts the rider once the fuel drops below the 2.7-liter reserve capacity. KTM has included an “F” distance feature as a substitute within the settings, which tracks the distance covered after entering reserve. While functional, this solution may feel unconventional given the otherwise modern interface.
Performance
KTM 390 Enduro R is powered by a 398.7 cc, Single-Cylinder, Liquid-cooled, DOHC, FI engine. It can generate a max power of 46 PS at 8500 rpm and a max torque of 39 Nm at 6900 rpm. Moreover, it is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and a 9-liter fuel capacity.
The powertrain, throttle map, and gearing are the same as the KTM 390 Adventure except for the relatively smaller 9-liter fuel tank. KTM has included expected riding electronics like the Ride Modes (Street Mode and Off-road Mode), Slipper Clutch, and Quickshifter+ here as well.
In terms of ergonomics, the Enduro R features wider handlebars, a flatter one-piece seat, and an upright rider triangle, all optimized for off-road maneuverability and control.
Another key change is the sprocket configuration. KTM has added an extra 2 teeth on the back sprocket, bringing the sprocket teeth configuration from 14T/46T in the 390 Adventure to 14/48T in the 390 Enduro R. This improves its off-road and low-end performance, which delivers a completely different experience than the other 390s that align better with its dual-sport nature.
Enduro R 390 also features Dual-Channel ABS and Off-road ABS, which were present in the Adventure as well. But, this takes it a step further by including an “ABS-off” Option that can disable ABS on both wheels, for better control and skidability on rough terrains.
Additional Details
KTM 390 Enduro is equipped with a Split-Trellis Frame and pressure Die-cast Aluminum Subframe. The subframe is developed specifically for the Enduro R to provide a strong and durable base for the rear suspension.
43mm WP APEX USD Fork and WP Monoshock handle the suspension duties. Both suspensions are fully adjustable with a massive 200mm travel at the front and 205mm travel at the back, including 30 clicks of Compression and Rebound Damping at the front and 20 clicks of Rebound Damping with preload adjustment at the rear.
Similarly, the seat height is 860mm, whereas the ground clearance is 253mm. While there is no information on the overall dimensions, the wheelbase sits at 1470mm. And, the kerb weight is 177kg.

KTM 390 Enduro R Price in Nepal and Availability
The KTM 390 Enduro R price in Nepal is Rs. 9,99,900. With the new introductory prices for the 390 series, the new Enduro R is now positioned between the 390 Duke and the 390 Adventure.
To clarify, the KTM Enduro R on sale in Nepal is the Standard version, not the Global-spec model. The biggest difference lies in the suspension setup. Travel has been reduced from 230 mm to 200/205 mm, resulting in a more manageable seat height and a still-high but slightly lower ground clearance of 252 mm.
These tweaks make the bike more accessible while allowing KTM Nepal to price it aggressively. Yes, the Global version would have offered more “true Enduro” capability, but it would also have carried a significantly higher price tag. In this case, KTM has chosen value and approachability over outright spec bragging rights, a trade-off that makes sense for our price-sensitive market.
The following table lists the KTM 390 Enduro R price in Nepal for August 2025.
KTM 390 Enduro R | Price in Nepal |
---|---|
KTM 390 Enduro R | Rs. 999900 |

Rivals
KTM 390 Enduro R rivals the Honda CRF 300L.
Honda CRF 300L has set a benchmark for the dual-sports category. It brings the well-known Japanese reliability with beginner-friendly ergonomics and refined performance to the table. Similarly, the Inverted Front Fork and Pro-Link Rear Suspension (with 260mm Travel) have successfully created a benchmark that can handle different unforgiving terrain without affecting the overall comfort.
These characteristics have set the Honda CRF 300L as the best example in the dual-sports category, and for all the right reasons. However, this standard is changed after factoring in its retail price of over Rs. 20.75 Lakhs! The price-to-performance ratio is ridiculously disappointing. CRF 300L has a 112.7cc lower engine displacement, generating 17.68PS less power and 12.4Nm less torque than the 390 Enduro R, even at the same rev range.
And, this is even before considering the overall features on offer. KTM offering is equipped with all the modern electronics like Ride Modes, Switchable ABS Modes, TFT Display, Slipper Clutch, LED Lighting Setup, Wider Tyres, and more. In comparison, the Honda offering, which is double the rumored retail price for the KTM, is limited to just a standard Dual-Channel ABS, simplified LCD Display, and Halogen Lighting Setup.
The only “winning factor” for Honda besides the previously mentioned is the 21mm longer seat height, 33mm higher ground clearance, and a 36 kilos lighter body. While it does not meet outright in performance, the CRF 300 makes up for it in off-road-ready capabilities/
It is a classic example of practicality over features. Yes, CRF 300L does have all the hallmarks of the true dual-sports, but charges an ultra-premium price for that luxury. Whereas, the 390 Enduro R provides a balance of performance, features, and practicality at half the price!
So, what do you think about the KTM Enduro R 390? Do you think it can replace the Honda CRF 300L as the go-to dual-sports motorcycle? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
