Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max Available for Pre-Order in Nepal: Pricey!

Apple introduced the iPhone 16 Pro Max, its top-of-line flagship model during the “Glowtime” event on September 9, 2024, along with its three other iPhone 16 models. And it is finally available for pre-booking in Nepal.

What is the Price of the iPhone 16 Pro Max in Nepal?

The iPhone 16 Pro Max price in Nepal is Rs. 2,32,500 (256GB), Rs. 2,70,500 (512GB), and Rs. 3,08,000 (1TB). The phone is yet to be launched in Nepal but you can pre-book the iPhone 16 Pro Max via authorized stores.

The iPhone 16 Pro Max is the bigger iPhone 16 Pro series model. They both feature identical features and designs. The size is the only change, which naturally means that the 16 Pro Max has a bigger display and battery.

iPhone 16 Pro Max Overview

Apple Intelligence

The iPhone 16 Pro Max comes with iOS 18. The iOS 18 was supposed to come with Apple Intelligence AI features. But, it will only be available on the next update, i.e., iOS 18.1.

Anyway, Apple Intelligence introduces systemwide Writing Tools that allow users to rewrite, proofread, and summarize text across apps like Mail, Notes, and third-party platforms. Audio can also be recorded, transcribed, and summarized in Notes and Phone apps.

Siri gains a more natural communication style, with richer language understanding, context retention, and a new glowing design around the screen edge. Apple Intelligence helps prioritize notifications and emails.

Users can search photos and videos with natural language and remove distractions in photos with the new Clean Up tool.

Additional Apple Intelligence features will roll out later this year and in the months following, including Image Playground, which allows users to create playful images in moments.

Design

The iPhone 16 Pro Max is slightly bigger in dimension than its predecessor, the iPhone 15 Pro Max. However, the familiar three-camera design on the rear is the same.

The front looks better thanks to the thinner bezels. Apple says the Pro lineup has the thinnest borders of any Apple product. Additionally, the display is protected by the “latest-generation Ceramic Shield,” which is said to be 2x tougher than other smartphone glass.

There is a new dedicated Camera Control button below the power button that makes it easy to quickly access and control the camera app. More on that below.

The frame is made from titanium material that was introduced on the iPhone 15 Pro series. The available colors are black, white, natural, and a new desert titanium. The phone is IP68 rated for splash, water, and dust resistance.

Moreover, Apple says the phone has a new mechanical architecture that improves heat dissipation and efficiency for up to 20 percent better-sustained performance.

Camera Control

The iPhone 16 has a new Camera Control button. Camera Control can quickly launch the camera, take a photo, and start video recording so users don’t miss the moment.

A new camera preview helps users frame the shot and adjust other control options — such as zoom, exposure, or depth of field — to compose a stunning photo or video by sliding their finger on the Camera Control. Additionally, developers will be able to bring Camera Control to third-party apps such as Snapchat.

Display

The iPhone 16 Pro Max has a larger 6.9-inch LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED display with ProMotion 120Hz refresh rate support. The display has a 1320 x 2868 pixels resolution, resulting in 460 ppi pixel density.

The claimed brightness level is the same as before with 1000 nits max brightness, 1600 nits HDR peak brightness, and 2000 nits HBM brightness.

Hardware

The iPhone 16 Pro Max introduces the new A18 Pro chip. Built with second-generation 3nm technology and a 17 percent system memory bandwidth increase, the A18 Pro is a more powerful and efficient chipset.

The 16-core Neural Engine is faster and more efficient, powering on-device performance for Apple Intelligence. Apple says the 6-core GPU is 20 percent faster than the A17 Pro, making render for Apple Intelligence and visuals for gaming much better.

A new 6-core CPU is the fastest in a smartphone, with two performance cores and four efficiency cores that can run the same workload as the previous generation 15 percent faster while using 20 percent less power, Apple says.

As for the storage, the 16 Pro Max comes with 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage options. The iPhone 16 Pro Max also introduces Wi-Fi 7 support.

Camera

The iPhone has an upgraded triple rear camera setup. It has a new 48MP Fusion camera with a faster, more efficient quad-pixel camera that now records 4K 120fps video in Dolby Vision. Apple says it can read data 2x faster, minimizing shutter lag for 48MP ProRaw or HEIF photos.

There is also a new 48MP ultrawide camera featuring a quad-pixel sensor with autofocus. Moreover, the 12MP 5x telephoto camera is still present. The phone can now also shoot spatial photos in addition to videos to play on Apple Vision Pro.

The video can now be captured in spatial audio for immersive listening with AirPods, Apple Vision Pro, or a surround sound system.

Users can capture 4K 120fps in Slo-mo or Video mode, and adjust the playback speed after capture in the Photos app, including a quarter-speed playback, a new half-speed option for a dreamy effect, and a fifth-speed option that corresponds to 24fps.

Users can also capture 4K 120fps ProRes and Log directly to an external storage device for efficient pro workflows. Furthermore, the phone has four new studio-quality mics for recording true-to-life sounds.

The front has a 12MP selfie camera with OIS, which can shoot up to 4K 60fps video.

Battery and OS

Apple says the iPhone 16 Pro Max has a larger battery but refuses to share the capacity officially. Apple claims the 16 Pro Max can provide up to 33 hours of video playback, 4 hours longer than the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

For charging, the phone USB-C wired charging that Apple says can charge up to 50 percent in around 30 minutes with 20W adapter or higher.

It also supports wireless charging, which takes the same time but with a 30W adapter or higher MagSafe charger. MagSafe wireless charging is supported up to 25W, while Qi2 charging up to 15W, and Qi wireless charging up to 7.5W.
