Infinix Hot 50i with Helio G81 and 48MP Camera Launched in Nepal

The Infinix Hot 50i, the successor to the Infinix Hot 40i, has launched in Nepal.

The Infinix Hot 50i brings some noteworthy upgrades in terms of a higher 120Hz refresh rate display, a new SOC, and a lower price tag.

Infinix Hot 50i Overview

Design

Ditching the iPhone-inspired look from last year, the Infinix Hot 50i brings a fresh design while retaining plastic materials for the frame and back. It offers IP54 dust and splash resistance and supports wet and greasy touch.

To the back, we have what looks like a dual camera setup coupled with dual LED flash embedded on a slightly protruding squircle array. Available colors include Sleek Black, Sage Green, and Titanium Grey.

Upfront is the HD+ display with a centered punch-hole cutout that houses the selfie shooter and a sizeable chin at the bottom.

The frame houses the volume rockers and power button/fingerprint sensor to the right, with a 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C port, primary microphone, and speaker at the bottom. The dual SIM and dedicated microSD card tray are on the left, with the top housing a secondary speaker for stereo sound.

Display

The Infinix Hot 50i features a 6.7-inch IPS LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and support for Always-on Display (AOD) as opposed to a 6.56-inch 90Hz panel on its predecessor.

It has a 20:9 aspect ratio, a resolution of 720×1600 pixels, and a pixel density of 262ppi. The peak brightness is 500 nits.

Hardware

Under the hood, the MediaTek Helio G81 SOC, built on a 12nm FinFET process, powers the device with two Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz and six Cortex-55 cores clocked at 1.7 GHz. Graphics are managed by the Mali G52 MC2 GPU.

The phone comes with either 4GB or 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage, expandable via a microSD card slot.

Camera

At first glance, it might look like a dual-camera setup but on the optics front, the primary camera is a 48MP lens with an f/1.8 aperture which can record 1080p footage at 30fps and the second unspecified lens is ornamental. It is paired with a dual-LED flash.

Withing the hole-punch cutout to the front is an 8MP f/2.0 camera for selfies and videocalls.

Battery and OS

The Infinix Hot 50i has a 5000mAh battery with 18W wired charging and can charge other devices via the USB-C 2.0 port.

The Infinix Hot 50i runs XOS 14.5, built on top of Android 14. It brings features such as Floating Windows, a Smart Panel, a dedicated game mode, and more. some other software bells and whistles.

Besides that, it also brings Infinix’s voice assistant named Folax.

The Infinix Hot 50i price in Nepal is Rs. 14,499 for the 4/128GB variant and Rs. 15,999 for the 6/128GB variant. It is available for purchase across Nepal through authorized distributors and retail outlets.
