Honor is ready to launch Honor 70 in Nepal. It is Honor’s upper mid-range smartphone that was unveiled in late May 2022.
The phone, however, may not arrive in Nepal anytime soon because the import ban on mobile sets costing more than $300 is still in effect. Once the import ban lifts, the phone will enter Nepal.
The Honor 70 is a successor to the Honor 50, which was announced last year but never made it to Nepal. The Honor 70 series includes two other higher-tier devices: Honor 70 Pro and Honor 70 Pro+.
All three phones in the series share the same main camera sensor that uses Sony’s new 54MP IMX800 sensor. While the Pro series comes with MediaTek Dimensity chipsets, the non-pro Honor 70 is equipped with Snapdragon 778G Plus.
So, let’s get into the specifications and features of Honor 70.

Honor 70 Overview
The Honor 70 comes in four colour options: Crystal Silver, Icelandic Frost, Midnight Black, and Emerald Green. All options have an AG glass back, but the former has a diamond pattern and the Icelandic Frost has a gradient finish.
The back has two big camera rings. Both the front and rear sides are curved, making the device look more premium, and thinner than it really is. The top and the bottom side, on the other hand, are flat.
The top houses a mic, whereas the SIM card tray, mic, USB-C connector, and speaker grille are located on the bottom side. Unfortunately, the phone does not get any ingress protection or Gorilla Glass protection.
The phone comes with a 6.67-inch 10-bit OLED display with Full HD+ resolution. The sides of the display are curved.
It supports up to 120Hz refresh rate and covers 100% of DCI-P3 colour space. Moreover, the display supports HDR10+.
The single prime Arm Cortex-A78 core has an increased 2.5GHz max clock speed, while three big Arm Cortex-A78 cores run at up to 2.2GHz and four little Arm Cortex-A55 cores run at up to 1.9GHz.
The base variant comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. It also comes with 256GB of storage. Unfortunately, the device does not have room for a microSD card.
The Honor 70 (series) is the first device to come with Sony’s new 54MP IMX800 sensor. It has a 1/1.49 inches sensor size and an f/1.9 aperture lens.
The secondary camera is a 50MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 aperture that also doubles as a macro camera. The ultrawide camera has a field of view of 122-degree and can take macro shots at a minimum distance of 2.5cm.
For selfies and video calling, Honor has provided a 32MP front-facing camera sensor. With the back camera, the phone can shoot up to 4K video at 30fps.
Battery and OS
The phone includes a 4800mAh battery with 66W fast charging support. Honor claims that it takes 20 minutes to charge to 60%.
In terms of software, Honor comes pre-installed with Magic UI 6.1 based on Android 12.
Honor 70 Price in Nepal and Availability
The Honor 70 price in Nepal is expected to start at around Rs. 55,000. Currently, because of the import ban on mobile phones costing above $300, Honor is not able to bring the Honor 70 to Nepal.
Once the ban is removed by the Nepali government, the phone will be available here.
