Among the lineup is the Honor 400 Lite, the most budget-friendly model in the series, launching alongside the standard Honor 400 and the premium Honor 400 Pro. Honor has also opened pre-booking for all three models.

In this article, we’ll be focusing specifically on the Honor 400 Lite.

The Honor 400 Lite features a flat, boxy design—quite different from its higher-end siblings, the Honor 400 and 400 Pro, which have subtle curves to their frames.

On paper, the Lite variant doesn’t stand out much in terms of raw specs. However, the addition of a 120Hz refresh rate and an impressive peak brightness of 3,500 nits is a welcome improvement.

Let’s take a closer look at what new features the phone has to offer.

Honor 400 Lite Overview

Design

The Honor 400 Lite, unlike its bigger sibling, has a flat, boxy design that’s currently in trend. The frame is plastic, which is expected for the price, but the matte finish gives it a more premium look.

On the right side, it has the usual volume rocker and power button. This time, there’s also an “AI Camera Button“, similar to the camera control seen on iPhones.

The phone is slim and light, with a thickness of just 7.29mm. The camera design on the back combines elements from both the iPhone and Huawei’s Pura series, featuring a squarish shape with an angled cutout.

It has only a mono speaker, which may be a downside for some users. On the front, the bezels are nearly symmetrical, and there’s a pill-shaped cutout for the selfie camera. It also comes with IP65 splash and dust resistance, along with SGS five-star drop protection.

Display

The display on the Honor 400 Lite remains the same in size, featuring a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel with an FHD+ resolution (2412 x 1080 pixels). However, this time, it finally gets a much-needed upgrade to a 120Hz refresh rate—something competitors have been offering for a while.

The screen can hit a peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits and supports the DCI-P3 color gamut for vibrant colors. Like other phones in the Honor 400 series, the Lite model also includes 3,840Hz PWM dimming and is TUV Rheinland certified for flicker-free performance.

Additionally, it introduces a feature called “Magic Capsule,” similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island, which shows notifications and key information in a compact, interactive format.

Hardware

Compared to its predecessor, the Honor 400 Lite brings a minor upgrade in the processing department with the MediaTek Dimensity 7025 Ultra. Despite the “Ultra” branding, it has the same core count, and clock speeds, and uses the same Mali-G57 GPU as the regular Dimensity 7025.

The phone comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. As with its predecessor, it does not support memory expansion via microSD.

Camera

The Honor 400 Lite features a dual-camera setup consisting of a 108MP main sensor and a 5MP depth sensor. However, it lacks an ultra-wide lens, which feels like a missed opportunity in this segment. On the front, there’s a 16MP selfie camera accompanied by a dedicated selfie light.

Both the front and rear cameras support video recording at up to 1080p at 30 frames per second.

Battery and OS

The Honor 400 Lite is equipped with a 5,230mAh Li-Po battery. Unlike other models in the 400 series, it doesn’t feature a silicon-carbon battery. It charges via a USB-C port and supports fast charging up to 35W.

Out of the box, the phone runs on Android 15 with Honor’s MagicOS 9.0 skin on top. And like other phones in the 400 series, Lite also has that massive 6 years of major Android upgrades.

Honor 400 Lite Price in Nepal and Availability

The Honor 400 Lite price in Nepal is Rs. 39,999 (12/258GB). The phone has finally made its way to Nepal with a unique mountain flight launch and is now officially available for pre-order through EFIX Nepal, Hukut, and Khalti.

As part of the pre-booking offer, customers will receive the Honor Choice Earbuds X7 Lite for free with the purchase of the Honor 400 Lite. This offer is valid until June 16, 2025. Additionally, buyers can take advantage of 0% interest EMI through the Honor Easy EMI program.

The Honor 400 Lite is the most affordable option in the Honor 400 series. It comes with the Dimensity 7025, which, to be honest, doesn’t offer great value at this price point. The absence of an ultrawide lens also feels like a step backward. While the 120Hz display is a welcome addition, it’s a feature that many competing phones have already been offering for some time.

Despite being positioned in the budget segment, the price-to-performance ratio isn’t very compelling—especially when stacked against strong competitors like the Redmi Note 14 Pro and the fan-favorite CMF Phone 2 Pro.

Unlike the Honor 400 Pro and 400, which had stronger selling points, the Lite variant doesn’t make as convincing of a case for itself.

But that’s just me, what are your thoughts on the Honor 400 Lite? Let us know in the comments!
