GoPro Hero 10 Black Goes Official in Nepal: 4K 120FPS Recording

It had just been a few days since GoPro had announced its new flagship action camera, GoPro Hero 10 Black. It is now already available in Nepal to buy.

The sole official distributor of GoPro devices in Nepal, Icefall Technologies, launched the GoPro Hero 10 Black in Nepal on September 17, 2021.

GoPro Hero 10 Black price in Nepal is Rs. 75,550. The action camera can be bought via Icefall Technologies.

GoPro brings few but important changes to the GoPro Hero 10 Black compared to the last year’s GoPro Hero 9. Let’s see in detail what new features are available in the Hero 10 Black.

GoPro Hero 10 Overview

Build

GoPro Hero 10 Black has the same dimensions as the GoPro Hero 9 Black. The only visible difference compared to last year’s model is the colour of the GoPro branding and the new number ’10’ which are now in Blue instead of Grey.

Therefore, the accessories for Hero 9 will also be compatible with the new Hero 10. The main display is also the same as the Hero 9 at 2.27-inch.

Features

The biggest upgrade is inside the device. Inside, there is a new chipset named GP2. GP2 is the successor to the GP1 chipset found in Hero 10’s predecessors.

This new chipset enables the GoPro Hero 10 Black to shoot at 60FPS at 5.3K, 120FPS at 4K, and 240FPS at 2.7K. These are all at double the frame rate of the Hero 9.

GoPro also introduces HyperSmooth 4.0 with the new Hero 10 Black. GoPro claims this new iteration of HyperSmooth stabilizes the video even better. Plus it also has increased horizon leveling from 27° to 45°.

The new Hero 10 now has cloud support as well. With this, the camera can now automatically upload videos to the cloud. Then the footage can be easily accessed, edited, and shared through the Quik App. Though you need a paid GoPro subscription for the cloud feature to work.

Talking about the photo, It can now shoot photos at 23MP, which is also another upgrade from last year’s 20MP. When shooting in 5K 4:3 mode, the Hero 10 can also pull 19.6MP still from the video.

Battery

The battery in the Hero 10 Black is of 1720mAh capacity. It is the same capacity as the last year’s Hero 9.

Therefore, with the new powerful processor, this year’s battery life may be less than the GoPro Hero 9 Black.

From the outside, the GoPro Hero 10 Black looks identical to the GoPro Hero 9. Its biggest upgrade this year is the new chipset. That enabled Hero 10 to take full advantage of the camera sensor it already had and make the device much smoother and responsive.
