- BYD Atto 2 price in Nepal is Rs. 43.99 Lakhs.
- Atto 2 is available in a single variant.
- It is powered by a 100 kW Motor and a 51.13 kWh Blade Battery pack.
It all started with the Atto 3 in 2022, followed quite late by the Atto 1, at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2025. And, now in the same year, the Atto 2 took the spotlight at the NADA Auto Show 2025. With this, BYD Nepal has wrapped up the complete Atto lineup, making it a true hat-trick for the brand.
Cimex Inc., the official distributor of BYD in Nepal, seems determined to roll out almost every model from BYD’s global lineup. Just this year, we’ve already seen the Sealion 7, the Atto 1, and now the Atto 2 join the streets of Nepal.
The star of the moment, the Atto 2, is a compact electric SUV, which is a segment that has quickly become a crowd favorite in Nepal. The Atto 3 was among the first e-SUVs to land here and became an instant hit, claiming titles such as the “Best Selling SUV of Nepal.”
However, the ongoing price wars and undercutting attempts between brands have put the very Atto 3 in a sort of overpriced region. BYD Nepal clearly picked up on that feedback and introduced the Atto 2.
What is the Price of BYD Atto 2 in Nepal?
BYD Atto 2 price in Nepal is Rs. 43.99 Lakhs. And, it is available in a single variant in Nepal.
The Atto 2 neatly slots itself between the entry-level Atto 1 and the pricier Atto 3. It even sits close to the Dolphin in terms of cost, giving buyers the choice between a hatchback or a practical SUV, without having to shell out an extra million for the Atto 3.
Atto 2 is covered by BYD’s extended warranty policy, which features a 10-year (or 2,00,000 km) warranty on Battery and Motor.

BYD Atto 2 Overview
Exterior
If the BYD Atto 2 looks a little familiar, that’s because it carries BYD’s signature “Dragon Face” design language, the same one you’ll spot across its siblings. This design isn’t just about looks though. Some reports suggest that it reduces frontal drag by up to 15%, which means better aerodynamics.
On top of that, the “dragon” inspiration comes straight from Chinese mythology, symbolizing power, agility, and good fortune. But, compared to the Atto 3, the Atto 2 feels leaner and sleeker, whereas the Atto 3 has a bulkier, more muscular stance.
Up front, the LED Headlamps and the DRL strip come together to form what BYD calls the “dragon’s whiskers.” These flank a blacked-out central grille with the BYD logo sitting in the middle. The bumper carries subtle air curtains with chrome touches that also act as mini aerodynamic diffusers. They help channel air to keep the LFP Blade Battery cool while keeping the frontal projection low (~0.28 m²).
From the side profile, the Atto 2 plays it relatively safe. It has the familiar silhouette of a compact electric SUV, though there are a few touches worth noting. The design tapers slightly towards the C-pillar, which gives it a neat flow and also for the air to pass over it. The flush door handles are a little quirky; they don’t pop out. Instead, you pull them from a small recess underneath.
The 17-inch Alloy Wheels add some character to the side view, along with the chrome accents on the lower door cladding, bringing a bit of flair, even if they feel unconventional. The e-Platform 3.0 makes its presence felt here. Thanks to the 1675 mm overall height and the flat floor design, you get a healthy laden ground clearance and easier entry and exit.
The rear feels a little distinct and fresh. The Full-Width LED light bar grabs attention, ending in a “Mobius Ring” pattern on both sides. The sculpted tailgate comes with an electronic release and a One-Touch Open-and-Close feature. Finally, down below, the chunky black cladding and skid plate make it look rugged and also add a bit of protection.
The exterior comes in Ski White, Harbour Grey, Cosmos Black, and Breeze Green color options.

Interior
The Atto 2’s interior seems more lenient on the ergonomics and space side. BYD has made the most of its flat-floor architecture, so both rows benefit from generous headroom and legroom. The layout itself won’t surprise you if you’ve been inside other modern BYD models, but it feels thoughtfully put together.
The dashboard and door panels are wrapped in soft plastic materials, while the seats come in Vegan Leatherette Upholstery. The perforated finish hints at Ventilation, but that luxury is reserved for the front seats only. The driver gets a 6-way Power-Adjustable seat, and the passenger seat offers 4-way Adjustment.
At the center, there’s a 12.8-inch Touchscreen that can rotate between portrait and landscape mode, carrying the same interface you’ll see on the Atto 3. But what sets the Atto 2 apart is its 8.8-inch Instrument Cluster. Instead of sitting upright like a separate pod, it’s tucked deeper into the dashboard.
Other amenities include a 50W Wireless Phone Charger (with Ventilation), an 8-Speaker Sound System, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, Automatic Climate Control, and a Voice Assistant.

Performance
Let’s talk performance, because that’s where the Atto 2 really gets interesting. Sitting up front is a 100 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) that delivers 136 PS of max power and 290 Nm of max torque. But what makes it even cooler is the drive system itself.
BYD has packed an 8-in-1 setup that brings several key components into one integrated unit. According to BYD, it’s the first of its kind to go into mass production, which gives them both bragging rights but also proves how far ahead they are in innovation.
And of course, no BYD story feels complete without mentioning the Blade Battery. In this case, the Atto 2 carries a 51.13 kWh pack that delivers a WLTP range of up to 345 km. When it comes to charging, you get two options. A 7 kW AC charger will take you from empty to full in about 8 hours, making it perfect for overnight charging.
But if you’re in a hurry, plug it into an 82 kW DC fast charger (Max) and you can jump from 0 to 80% in just 25 minutes.
Now, it’s a Front-Wheel-Drive setup, which might not sound as thrilling as a Rear-Wheel-Drive EV with that motor. Still, in a car built for everyday use, predictable handling is often the smarter choice. Plus, BYD has worked on the vehicle dynamics, so thanks to the low center of gravity from its Cell-to-Body integration, you also get minimal body roll when taking on corners.
Additionally, the performance numbers round it all off nicely. The Atto 2 can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in around 9 seconds and hit a top speed of roughly 150 kmph. So while it’s not a track monster, it feels quick enough to keep things fun on the road.

Rivals
This segment is absolutely buzzing with competition. You’ve got the Dongfeng Nammi Vigo on one side, the Tata Punch EV on the other, and then, to make things even more interesting, the BYD Atto 2 has to deal with its own sibling, the BYD Dolphin. Let’s break it down.
Starting with the Nammi Vigo, which many would argue is the best budget-friendly SUV in this space. Why? Simple, Price, and Package. The top variant comes in at around Rs. 42 Lakhs, which is a pretty sweet deal when you realize it packs a 99 kW motor, a 52 kWh LFP battery, WLTP-rated 350 km range, and even supports up to 167 kW DC fast charging. On top of that, it inherits credibility from the Nammi 01, which has already made its mark. Put all of this together, and the Vigo really does set the tone for what an affordable EV SUV should look like.
Now, swing over to the Tata Punch EV. This one tries to be the all-rounder of the group. It has a decent 90 kW motor, a real-world range in the ballpark of 240 to 250 km, and a compact, family-friendly design. Plus, it carries the trust factor of Tata, which holds weight in the Nepali market. And while its Rs. 40 Lakhs price tag makes it quite tempting, there are some trade-offs.
The Punch EV runs on a lithium-ion battery instead of LFP. The range feels limited compared to the Vigo or the Atto 2, and the cabin space isn’t as generous, which could be a deal breaker for families. So while it is a good value pick, it doesn’t really hold up in a direct fight with the bigger players here.
That leaves us with perhaps the most interesting rivalry: BYD Atto 2 versus its own sibling, the Dolphin. On paper, the Atto 2 clearly outmuscles the Dolphin with its stronger 100 kW motor compared to the Dolphin’s 70 kW. But numbers aren’t everything. The Dolphin, with its hatchback personality and easygoing charm, has already won hearts. Sales have been solid too, with the Dolphin inching close to 2500 units earlier this year. That kind of popularity makes it a tough competitor, even for its more powerful sibling. However, the Dolphin does come with a downside that a lot of Nepali buyers have pointed out is its 175 mm ground clearance. On our rough roads, that can quickly become a headache.
This is where the Atto 2 makes its case. With a segment-leading 200 mm ground clearance, it immediately answers one of the Dolphin’s biggest weaknesses. Add to that its SUV stance, the more powerful motor, and a similar price range of Rs. 40 to 45 Lakhs, and the Atto 2 starts looking like a carefully thought-out alternative to the Dolphin rather than an accidental rival.
Of course, sibling rivalry in the auto world isn’t new, and it doesn’t always end badly. If anything, it gives customers more choice. And with BYD already holding the top spot in Nepal’s EV market, chances are they know exactly what they’re doing by letting the Atto 2 and Dolphin coexist.
