Hansraj Hulaschand & Co., the authorized distributor of Bajaj motorcycles in Nepal, has sold the Pulsar 220F for nearly two decades. Despite its massive popularity and status as the face of the Pulsar brand, the bike saw only minor updates over the years. Bajaj did attempt to move on with the Pulsar F250, but it failed to capture the same appeal and was eventually discontinued.

Recognizing the strength of its legacy models, Bajaj is clearly shifting its focus back to proven names. The updated Pulsar 220F finally receives the much-needed quality-of-life upgrades while keeping pricing in check for the Nepali market. This approach is expected to continue with the Pulsar 150 as well, which is likely to arrive in Nepal in 2026 with updates such as an LED headlamp and Single-Channel ABS.

For now, let’s put the focus back on the legendary 2026 Bajaj Pulsar 220F.

Bajaj Nepal has officially opened bookings for the 2026 Pulsar 220F. While the launch date has not been confirmed yet, deliveries are expected to begin as soon as it launches. Interested buyers can visit their nearest Bajaj showroom for booking and further details.

With that said, let’s take a quick look at the Bajaj Pulsar 220F in Nepal and its key specifications for 2026.

Bajaj Pulsar 220 F ABS Overview

Design

The Bajaj Pulsar 220F remains a standout with its instantly recognizable semi-faired design. It strikes a balance between aerodynamic intent and everyday usability, delivering a sharp, sporty look without going fully faired. Even years after its debut, the design still holds strong appeal.

Up front, the Pulsar 220F retains one of its most defining elements: the Dual-Projector Headlamp setup. The lighting remains the familiar yellow halogen unit, as Bajaj has chosen not to upgrade it to LED. However, the latest update does introduce LED indicators, replacing the older halogen units and adding a subtle modern touch.

The black visor above the headlamp smartly integrates the rear-view mirrors. By mounting the mirrors on the visor instead of the handlebars, Bajaj has kept the bike’s overall width in check, which helps when filtering through traffic.

From the side, the design remains one of the 220F’s strongest points. The fuel tank flows neatly into the fairing, now highlighted by refreshed graphics and decals. Faux carbon-fiber shrouds add visual texture, while details like the engine cowl, blacked-out engine components, split-seat layout, and clip-on handlebars reinforce its performance-focused character.

A key update comes in the form of a new negative LCD instrument cluster, similar to those seen on newer N-Series Pulsar models. It supports Bluetooth connectivity with features such as Turn-by-Turn Navigation, Call Accept and Reject, Missed Call and Message Alerts, Clock, and Distance-to-Empty readouts. A USB charging port is also neatly placed on the left side of the cluster for added convenience.

At the rear, the Pulsar 220F continues with the familiar twin-LED tail lamp seen across the Pulsar range. The split grab rails suit the sporty design, though they remain more aesthetic than practical. The bike also features a twin rear shock setup instead of a monoshock, providing a more traditional suspension layout compared to newer rivals.

Earlier, the BS4 Pulsar 220F was available only in a Sparkle Black color. The updated version brings new options like Black Cherry Red, Black Ink Blue, Black Copper Beige, and Green Light Copper. It will be interesting to see which of these color options Bajaj Nepal officially introduces.

Performance

Bajaj Pulsar 220F is powered by a 220cc 4-stroke, 2-valve, Twin Spark, oil-cooled, DTS-I FI Engine. It generates a max power of 20.9 PS at 8500rpm and a max torque of 18.55 Nm at 7000rpm. Moreover, it is mated to a 5-speed gearbox with a 15-liter fuel tank capacity.

There isn’t a major difference in the powertrain. Compared to the BS4 carbureted version, the newer BS6 fuel-injected model produces just 0.1 PS less power and 0.56 Nm less torque. In real-world riding, this difference is barely noticeable, while the BS6 version gains the added benefit of cleaner emissions and E20 fuel compatibility.

Another interesting carryover from the BS4 version is that both the BS4 and BS6 Pulsar 220F miss out on a kick start.

The older BS4 carburetor engine relied on Temperature-Based Ignition Mapping and an Auto Choke system. The ignition timing would automatically adjust based on engine temperature, while the auto choke enriched the fuel–air mixture during cold starts. It was a simple, mechanical solution that worked well in real-world conditions.

The new BS6 version takes a more modern approach. It uses an Electronic Control Unit (ECU) that manages ignition timing and fuel delivery electronically. Instead of mechanical workarounds, the ECU precisely calculates the fuel–air mixture using multi-dimensional maps and sensor inputs, resulting in better consistency, cleaner emissions, and smoother operation overall.

Additional Details

Telescopic with an Anti-Friction Bush at the front and a Twin Nitrox Shock Absorber with 5-way Adjustable at the rear handles the suspension duties.

The dimensions are 2035 mm in length, 750 mm in width, and 1165 mm in height. Moreover, the wheelbase is 1350 mm. Bajaj Pulsar 220F gets a 165 mm ground clearance. Furthermore, the seat height is 795 mm.

It sports a 280mm Front Disc and 230mm Rear Disc Braking configuration, further enhanced by a front Single-Channel ABS. Even the 17-inch tyre sizes remain the same with 90/90-section at the front and 120/80-section at the rear.

There isn’t much change in the overall dimension and hardware. But the shift to BS6 has increased the weight further by 8 kilos, sitting at 160kg.

Bajaj Pulsar 220 F BS6 Price in Nepal and Availability

The Bajaj Pulsar 220F price in Nepal is Rs. 4,39,900. It is currently available for bookings and is expected to launch soon in Nepal.

For reference, the outgoing BS4 model was priced at Rs. 4.15 lakhs. For an additional Rs. 20,000, the new version significantly improves the overall package. It retains the same macho design and unmistakable Pulsar DNA, while staying within an aggressive price bracket. While there are newer and more advanced Pulsars in the lineup, none carry the same legacy or emotional pull as the 220F.

Bajaj Nepal has not confirmed whether the BS4 version will continue after the new model launches. However, given the clear improvements for a small price bump, it is likely the older version will only be sold until existing stock runs out.

We will update this space as more information becomes available.

Bajaj Pulsar 220 F Variants Price in Nepal
FI – BS6 Rs. 439900
Carb – BS4 Rs. 419900

Rivals

The Bajaj Pulsar 220 F rivals the Bajaj Pulsar NS 200.

Both belong to older Pulsar generations that have since been updated, but the NS200 has clearly received a more thorough upgrade. It gets an all-LED setup, LCD display, USD forks, and Dual-Channel ABS. Even the wider 100/80 front and 130/70 rear tyres give it an edge in cornering, stability, and overall performance.

That advantage grows when you look at performance. Despite similar torque figures, the NS200 makes 3.6 PS more power and pairs it with a 6-speed gearbox. The result is stronger highway performance, all for just Rs. 12,000 more than the new Pulsar 220F.

Yet, the 220F will still attract buyers. It has a loyal fanbase because it can comfortably handle everything you throw at it, even with a 5-speed gearbox, and its riding ergonomics, combined with the aggressive semi-faired design, continue to resonate. It carries a legacy that few motorcycles can match.

So while the NS200 is clearly the more modern and better-equipped choice, the Pulsar 220F’s charm and legendary status still hold strong appeal.
