Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 Overview
Design
The Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 continues to carry forward its iconic design, featuring an aggressive stance, sharp and chiseled body lines, a muscular fuel tank, and the signature 3D Pulsar branding. While the base design language remains familiar, the 2024 model introduces several key updates that enhance its appeal.
At the front, the standard Halogen Headlamp and minimal visor continue on the lower trims. However, the top (new) variant now comes equipped with a Full LED Lighting Setup, including LED Headlamps, DRLs, Side indicators, and Taillights.
Complementing this is a fresh paint scheme with updated graphics that inject new life into the overall design. One of the most notable mechanical changes in the top-spec NS 200 is the addition of USD (Upside Down) Forks. These not only improve handling but also lend the bike a beefier and more planted front profile, in contrast to the standard Telescopic Forks seen on the other variants.
The side profile showcases the NS 200’s sculpted fuel tank with extended shrouds that flow into a Split-Seat Setup. Despite the design remaining largely unchanged since its debut, these subtle enhancements refine its visual identity without straying from its original street-naked character.
Moving on, a highlight carried over from the original model is the Underbelly Exhaust, which remains a distinctive feature in this segment. Also visible is the Perimeter Frame, which is a structural choice that underlines its performance-oriented nature and provides enhanced rigidity. It is particularly appreciated during high speed runs and sharp corners.
At the rear, the NS 200 retains its signature Dual-Strip LED tail lamp, which still manages to look stylish and sporty. The sharp tapering tail section, raised pillion seat, and integrated grab rails continue to emphasize the bike’s athletic posture, although the elevated rear may compromise pillion comfort over longer rides.
Another major upgrade for 2024 is the introduction of a Fully Digital Instrument Cluster, replacing the previous Semi-Digital Setup.
The new console displays vital information such as a Gear Position Indicator, Distance To Empty, Average and Real-Time Mileage, Turn-by-Turn Navigation, and Bluetooth Connectivity.
Additionally, the 2024 Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 is offered in Pearl White and Ebony Black, while older variants remain available in Red, White, Grey, and Blue.
Performance
Bajaj Pulsar NS200 comes in Fuel Injection and Carburetor configurations.
Both variants are powered by a 199.6cc, Single Cylinder, 4-Valve, Triple-Spark, and Liquid-cooled, DTS-I engine. The Pulsar NS 200 FI engine generates a max power of 24.5 PS at 9750 rpm and a max torque of 18.7 Nm at 8000 rpm.
On the other hand, the Pulsar NS 200 Carb generates a slightly lesser powertrain. It produces a max power of 23.5 PS at 9500 rpm and a max torque 18.3 Nm at 6000 rpm. Furthermore, the Carburetor engine is BS4-compliant.
Both are mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a 12-liter fuel tank.
The new flagship NS 200 brings a fresh look along with better handling and a more planted feel. However, its performance figures remain unchanged.
Additional Details
The dimensions are 2017 mm in length, 804 mm in width, and 1075 mm in height. Moreover, the wheelbase sits at 1363 mm.
It gets 33 mm USD Telescopic Fork and Nitrox Mono Shock handle suspension duties. Whereas, the older iteration gets the traditional Telescopic Fork.
Bajaj Pulsar NS 200 gets a 168 mm ground clearance. And, the kerb weight is 152kg to 158kg.
The front tyre is 100/80 52P and the rear tyre size is 130/70 62P at the rear. Unfortunately, it still misses out on the rear Radial tyre.
It is a Dual Disc configuration: 300mm front disc and 230mm rear drum. Furthermore, the flagship NS 200 comes equipped with Dual-Channel ABS, while the rest of the lineup continues with Single-Channel ABS.
Previously, Bajaj offered an additional variant (the BS6 Dual-Channel ABS FI), with the Dual-Channel ABS braking setup. However, this variant has been discontinued in the latest update.
