Xiaomi is one of the most established smartphone brands in Nepal. It has released some of the best devices in the Nepali Market. Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 was one of the most popular smartphones in last two years. It had some of the very best specs and came at an affordable price.
Following this success, Xiaomi also released a new phone, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, which also looks very good on paper and we can be certain that this is going to do good in the market. Xiaomi also has decided to release a slightly upgraded Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro. These phones were released in India on February 14. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro price in Nepal is expected to be around Rs. 36,999.
Specification Outline
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro comes with an Octa-Core Snapdragon 636 Processor paired with a hell of a capacity of RAM. It comes with either 4 Gigabytes RAM or a whopping 6 Gigabytes of RAM, which is very uncommon for a smartphone at this price point. It also comes with a base storage of 64 Gigabytes. The screen on this device is a 6 inch IPS panel that has a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels. This phone has very less bezel hence the 18:9 aspect ratio display. The display is a relatively sharp one with a pixel density of 403 ppi.
The camera setup on this device is an interesting one. The primary camera on this device is a dual setup with a 12 Megapixel f/2.2 and 5 Megapixel f/2.0 sensor. Xiaomi’s cameras have not always been the best in the market, but this time we might see some nice improvements in the camera section. The front camera on this device is unconventional. The front camera has a 20 Megapixel f/2.0 sensor, which is accompanied by a LED Flash. The battery on this device is a 4000 mAh Li-ion Polymer battery, which should give you pretty decent usage times.

Impressions
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro has very decent specifications for its price. But the irony is every other budget smartphone does. Xiaomi has introduced a new SoC with this iteration of the Redmi Note lineup. This new chip has kyro processors which are known for its battery efficiency and great performance.
This phone will have a significantly better performance than its predecessors due to its new SoC and bump in RAM. This phone will be a great threat to other fairly newer smartphones such as Huawei Nova 2i and Oppo F5. Also, Coolpad Cool Play 6, which was released for gaming might struggle to compete with this device. Time will tell us how this phone is going to do in the Nepali Market.
