Tecno Camon 30 with Dolby Atmos Speakers Arriving Soon in Nepal

Tecno Mobiles is gearing up to launch the photography-focused smartphone, the Tecno Camon 30, in the Nepalese market.

The Tecno Camon 30 is a more design and camera-focused smartphone with a decent set of midrange specs. It comes with a 50MP front and rear camera, a MediaTek processor, and an AMOLED display. A detailed set of specs and features is written below.

Tecno Camon 30 Overview

Design

The Tecno Camon 30 comes with an updated design language. Gone is the polygonal camera module, and in its place comes the much more premium-looking, huge circular camera ring. The rear panel of the device comes in two finishes: glass or eco-leather, depending on color.

The phone has a flat frame with a shiny metallic finish surrounding the device. It houses the volume buttons, the power button, and the SIM card tray on the sides. The USB-C port, speaker grille, and the 3.5mm jack, meanwhile, reside on the bottom. Additionally, there is a ‘Dolby Atmos‘ badge on the upper portion of the frame where the other speaker grille resides.

Finishing the look of the phone is the display, which has a punch-hole cutout for the camera and is surrounded by relatively thin and uniform bezels on all sides.

Display

The display of the Tecno Camon 30 is a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel. The display has a resolution of 1080 x 2436 pixels and a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. It also features an always-on mode.

Tecno has included an optical fingerprint sensor under the display for biometric authentication.

Hardware

Acting as the brain of the smartphone is a MediaTek Helio G99 Ultimate processor. This is a 6nm octa-core chip that has 2x 2.2 GHz Cortex-A76 performance cores and 6x 2.0GHz Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. A Mail-G57 coprocessor handles all the graphics.

Memory-wise, the Camon 30 comes with either 8 or 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The smartphone also supports microSD card. The phone comes with dual stereo speakers that support Dolby Atmos.

Camera

Tecno’s trend of including potentially misleading features persists with the release of the Tecno Camon 30. Despite the appearance of a quad camera setup on the rear, it actually only comes with one 50MP real camera. The other three are a depth sensor, a light sensor, and a badge that spews marketing jargon.

Being a ‘camera-focused’ midrange smartphone, this device misses out on an ultrawide and a telephoto lens which is confusing.

On the front, the selfie camera is also a 50MP shooter that has a dual-tone flash. Both the front and the rear cameras can shoot videos up to 1440p at 30fps.

Battery and OS

Powering the Tecno Camon 30 smartphone is a 5000mAh battery that charges through a USB-C port. The battery supports 70W fast charging.

Out of the box, the Camon 30 comes with Android 14 with HIOS 14 skin applied on top.
