The smartphone scene in Nepal was absolutely crackling this year with constant new launches and comebacks. The tablet space may not had the same intensity, but it does not mean it was boring. Whatever few downtimes there were between smartphone launches, it was tablets’ time to shine.

Now, let’s take a look back at some remarkable tablets that launched in 2025 and shine a spotlight on them. Here is the 2025 Edition of the TechLekh Awards for the Best Tablets in Nepal!
TechLekh Awards: Best Tablets of 2025 in Nepal
Before getting into the main event, we will briefly talk about why we are doing this.
Firstly, the Nepali tablet space is a bit of an uncharted territory, unlike the very well-mapped smartphone market. If someone wants to buy a tablet, there is a lot of research they have to do independently.
Given that, we put together the we put together the Best Tablets in Nepal at Every Price Range list a little while back, to aid in such research. And for the same reason, we would also like to present awards to a few outstanding tablets.
As for how we decide who gets awarded, we look at the overall value of a tablet by taking its specs and price into consideration, and comparing it with its similarly priced peers.
That being said, let’s take a look at the categories in which we will be awarding the tablets for:
Note: I would like to clarify that this award is limited to tablets officially launched in Nepal at the time of writing this. While there are many amazing tablets that, unfortunately, were not released in Nepal, we will not be considering them for the awards.
TechLekh Awards: Best Tablets of 2025 Winners
Now, let’s get the list going! Starting with the…
#1. Best Tablet for Kids: Blackview Tab A6 Kids

One of the most common reasons people buy a tablet is for their kids — after all, there’s a reason terms like “iPad baby” or “iPad kid” exist.
It makes sense why someone would want to give their kids a tablet. They want to watch cartoons and play games they saw an ad for in some other game, and giving them your phone for it every time isn’t always feasible. Then there’s the unpredictability factor, too. They might suddenly want to drop test whatever they are holding.
Considering the two to three tasks that will be done on the tab and the uncertain longevity of the device, spec-maxing or spending too much on the tab doesn’t make much sense. So what’s a decent tablet on a limited budget that launched this year?
We think it’s the Blackview Tab A6 Kids. We could not pinpoint exactly when this tab launched in Nepal, but the company definitely posted about it for the first time in the first half of the year.
It is the only device to feature an octa-core processor in the sub-15,000 price point, making it the most powerful tablet at this price. The rest of the specs are okay, too. However, the EVA case you get with the tablet is where the value’s at, if the tablet is going to be handed to a kid.
#2. Best Budget Tablet: Honor Pad X7

You generally only start getting good tablets at around Rs. 20,000. There are many tablets below that price, and some are good, but which one is the best?
The Honor Pad X7 makes the best case for itself. It isn’t the most powerful tablet at this price, but it sure is well-balanced. While the Samsung Galaxy Tab A11 outperforms it significantly in the silicon department, the Honor Pad X7 levels the field in other areas.
For instance, it is available with double the storage capacity of A11, while costing only Rs. 500 more. Likewise, it has a 7,020mAh battery, which is substantially larger than the 5,100mAh battery on the Galaxy Tab.
So, if you just want to watch some movies after work and don’t need heavy performance, then Honor Pad X7 is the way to go. You could argue that Tab A11 handles games better, but the default 64GB storage will have you in a chokehold, not being able to fit multiple games and their downloadable resources.
#3. Absolute Steal: Blackview Zeno 10

From all the tablets launched in 2025, which one felt like an absolute steal? It’s the Blackview Zeno 10 that launched recently.
At Rs. 29,999, the tablet comes with a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, a stylus pen, a protective case, and tempered glass bundled with the tablet for no extra cost. Blackview Nepal is even offering free earbuds with the tablet.
With so many freebies, you may think the tablet must really suck. Nope. It is an excellent device on its own. It features the UNISOC T8200 chipset, making it the most affordable 5G tablet in Nepal.
You do get the Redmi Pad Pro by adding Rs. 2,000 to your budget. The tablet has slightly better specs, including a more powerful chip. However, it’s last year’s launch, and all the freebies are what make the Blackview Zeno 10 an absolute steal.
#4. Best Overall Value: Xiaomi Pad 7

In this category, we have a tablet that launched this year, which makes the most sense for a lot of people to get. It has great specs while still being relatively affordable. It’s the Xiaomi Pad 7.
This tablet has everything going for it. A proper build quality with a metal unibody, a large high-resolution screen, a very powerful silicon, and a good software experience. All these good things were available for purchase at Rs. 50,000 or less.
As such, the Xiaomi Pad 7 was the safest option for anyone looking to buy a good tablet without breaking the bank. However, it’s not that the tablet did not have any issues. There were a nitpick or two, which you find out more about in the following video:
Xiaomi Pad 7 may make sense for most people, but it is definitely not the most powerful tablet to launch this year. So, which is? If money is not an issue, and you want the most capable tablet in the market right now, what do you get?
#5. The Ultimate Tablet: iPad Pro (M5)

Of course. It’s the iPad Pro with the M5 chip inside. This tablet launched in the latter part of 2025 and is basically a laptop. Afterall, it packs the M5 silicon, the same thing that powers devices like the latest MacBook Pro and Apple Vision Pro.
It also has cutting-edge display technology — Tandem OLED, and is the only widely available consumer device to feature such a screen. It’s a newer version of OLED technology, specifically targeted at lowering the issue with traditional OLED, like the risk of burn-in.
With the combination of one of the most powerful mobile silicon and next-gen technology, the iPad Pro is the most capable tablet in the Nepali market right now. Not only that, but it is also the most expensive one, costing nearly two lakhs.
Honourable Mention: While Apple was the only company offering its top-end flagship tablets in Nepal, Samsung entered the competition this year. The Korean tech giant introduced their base flagship tablet, i.e. Samsung Galaxy Tab S11, to the Nepali market. And as far as tablets rocking smartphone processors are concerned, it is the most capable tablet right now.
Likewise, iPad Mini also deserves a shout-out for being the only flagship-grade mini tablet in the market. If you want a small, easy-to-carry tablet but do not want to compromise on performance, then iPad Mini is the only one for you.
