Tata Punch EV Now in Nepal: Available Across Three Variants!

Tata Punch EV is now available in Nepal.

Sipradi Trading, the authorized distributor of Tata vehicles in Nepal, is further electrifying its vehicle lineup with the all-new Tata Punch EV.

The new EV model is based on the previously launched ICE variant, which was also introduced in Nepal. Despite being a worthy contender, the Punch (ICE variant) failed to make a significant impact in the Nepalese market.

However, the highly anticipated Tata Punch EV aims to change that. As Nepal is currently experiencing an EV rush, the Punch EV has a strong opportunity to capitalize on this trend.

Interestingly, the Punch EV is the first vehicle built on Tata’s newly debuted Pure EV Architecture called the “acti.ev.” 

This architecture features an optimized battery pack with a 10% improvement in energy density, offering ranges from 300 km to 600 km and supporting both AC and DC fast charging.

It ensures superior safety, navigation, and connectivity with its Advanced Computing Power, ADAS Level 2+ capabilities, 5G readiness, and acti.ev integrated platform.

Built on the smart acti.ev architecture, it carries a range of technological advancements and is expected to significantly influence its segment.

Tata Punch EV Overview

Design

Tata Punch EV features a Continuous LED DRL strip on top, which also serves as the charging indicator.

The edge portions of this strip include the turn indicators. Additionally, the LED projector Headlamps and Fog Lamps are positioned lower, giving the vehicle a sleek appearance.

The grille is naturally minimalistic, typical of EVs, while the significant bumper with vertical line designs adds a muscular stance.

Furthermore, the charging port is located at the front center, beneath the Tata emblem, and can be opened both electronically and manually.

This small SUV also offers Frunk Storage, extending its storage capacity.

From the side, the Punch EV showcases a dynamic profile with strong character lines running across the doors. While the side profile might not elicit significant “wows” or “ohs,” the 16-inch Multi-Spoke Alloy Wheels add flair to the otherwise monotonous side.

At the rear, the taillights feature a horizontal Y-shaped pattern. The rear bumper is sturdy, matching the front’s theme, and the inclusion of a rear skid plate adds to its robust character.

The “Punch.ev” badging is prominently displayed, indicating its electric identity. Additionally, the design is completed with a stylish spoiler that enhances aerodynamic efficiency.

Looking at the interior, the Punch EV is fully loaded with features and looks more appealing, comparable to the Tata Nexon.

The dashboard is fitted with a 10.2-inch Central Touchscreen, and the Instrument Cluster is also a 10.2-inch Digital Screen.

The Front Ventilated seats are placed higher, aiding drivers with front visibility; however, legroom might be an issue for taller passengers. 

The two-spoke leatherette steering wheel comes with physical controls. Furthermore, the 6-speaker Harman system provides high-quality audio inside.

Performance

Tata Punch EV comes in the Standard Range and Long Range options.

The Standard Range variant is powered by a 60 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(PMSM). It generates a max power of 81.5 PS and a max torque of 114 Nm.

It is supported by a 25 kWh Battery that offers a MIDC-claimed 315 Km driving range. Furthermore, the charging time from 0 to 100% is around 3.5 hours with a 7.2 kW AC Charger.

On the other hand, the Long Range variant is powered by a 90 kW Motor which generates a max power of 122 PS and a max torque of 190 Nm.

It is supported by a 35 kWh Battery that offers a MIDC-claimed 421 Km driving range. Furthermore, the charging time from 0 to 100% is around 5.5 hours with a 7.2 kW AC Charger.

Built on the new acti.ev architecture, the Punch EV features a 10% increase in energy density, resulting in an extended driving range.

The Standard option offers a range of 315 km, while the Long Range option provides up to 421 km. 

Interestingly enough, Punch EV claims a 140 km/h top speed with 0 to 100 km/h in just 9.5 seconds!

Moreover, it also features 4-LEVEL of Regenerative Braking capable of bringing the car to a stop.

Additional Details

McPherson Strut with Coil Spring and Twist Beam with Dual-Path Strut handle the suspension duties.

The dimensions are 3857 mm in length, 1742 mm in width, and 1633 mm in height. Moreover, the wheelbase is 2445 mm.

Tata Punch EV gets 190 mm of ground clearance. And, the kerb weight is 1217 – 1360 Kg.
