Tata Nexon is coming with a major facelift in Nepal and now is called Nexon.ev.
Sipradi Trading Pvt. Ltd., the authorized distributor of Tata vehicles in Nepal, is gearing up to launch the latest version of the Nexon.ev, a model that has already achieved remarkable success in the electric SUV market.
Tata Motors initially pioneered the electric SUV segment with the original Nexon EV. However, its dominance was soon challenged by competitors like the Atto 3 and MG ZS EV.
Recognizing the need for innovation, Tata went back to the drawing board and developed the cutting-edge acti.ev platform, designed specifically for their new generation of electric vehicles.
The Punch EV was the first model built on this platform, and it received an overwhelmingly positive response in both the Indian and Nepali markets.
Building on this success, Tata has completely re-engineered the Nexon.ev on the acti.ev platform, making it a truly electric-focused vehicle that meets the evolving expectations of today’s EV market.
To further strengthen its position in Nepal, Tata Nepal is also preparing to launch the Curvv.ev alongside the new Nexon.ev.

Tata Nexon.ev Overview
Design
The new Tata Nexon.ev is almost nothing like its predecessor model.
The Tata Nexon, built on the Acti.ev platform, features a bold and eye-catching front design.
A sleek LED DRL runs across the entire width, with the charging port hidden behind the Tata logo in the center.
LED Projector Headlamps are placed above the fog lamps, adding a sharp look. The lower grille has an angular pattern, giving the front a modern and dynamic feel.
The side view is clean and neat, with 16-inch Alloy Wheels that not only look stylish but also help improve aerodynamics.
At the back, a full-width LED light bar stretches across and forks into Y-shaped taillights, making the rear stand out.
Inside, the Nexon offers a completely refreshed design. The dashboard is simple yet elegant, featuring a 12.3-inch Infotainment Touchscreen in the center.
The lower part of the dashboard has leatherette padding with blue-accent stitching, which adds a touch of class. The glossy two-spoke steering wheel comes with physical controls and sits in front of a 10.2-inch Digital Instrument Cluster.
The leatherette seats feel premium, but tall passengers in the back might find legroom a bit tight if the front seats are pushed back.
The Nexon.ev is available in four colors: White, Grey, Red, and Teal, giving buyers some great options to choose from.
Performance
Tata Nexon.ev is available in Long Range and Medium Range options.
The Long Range variant features a 106.4 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM), delivering a maximum power of 145 PS and a peak torque of 215 Nm.
It is supported by a 40.5 kWh High-Density Lithium-Ion Battery Pack, it offers a driving range of 390 km, as per the MIDC Part 1 and Part 2 tests. Using a 7.2 kW AC charger, it fully charges from 0 to 100% in about 6 hours.
The Medium Range variant, equipped with a 95 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor, generates a maximum power of 129 PS and the same peak torque of 215 Nm.
This version is powered by a 30 kWh Lithium-Ion Battery Pack, providing a range of 290 km, as claimed by MIDC. Charging the Medium Range variant from 0 to 100% takes approximately 10.5 hours with its onboard 3.3 kW AC charger.
Both variants support fast charging, reaching 10% to 80% charge in just 58 minutes.
The Long Range variant accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds, while the Medium Range option achieves the same in 9.2 seconds.
Additional Details
MacPherson Strut and Twist Beam suspension setup handle the suspension duties.
The dimensions are 3994 mm in length, 1811 mm in width, and 1616 mm in height. Moreover, the wheelbase sits at 2498mm.
The ground clearance ranges from 190 mm – 205 mm ground clearance depending on the variant.
Tata Nexon EV and Tata Nexon.ev Differences Explained
The new Nexon.ev introduces a bold redesign, replacing the traditional headlamps with sleek, dynamically functional LED DRLs. The headlamps now sit higher on the bumper, stacked neatly above the fog lights for a modern and striking appearance.
From the side, the design remains largely familiar. However, the rear gets a significant upgrade with angular taillights connected by a stylish LED light bar, giving the car a more contemporary look.
Inside, the cabin sees a complete transformation. It now features an overhauled layout with updated instrumentation, a larger infotainment screen, a fully digital instrument cluster, and redesigned trim and central console.
The infotainment system boasts a new 12.3-inch screen with substantial software and user interface enhancements, replacing the older 10.25-inch unit. Similarly, the part-digital instrument cluster has been swapped for a 10.25-inch fully digital version.
In the central console, touch-sensitive controls replace physical buttons, while the rotary gear selector knob has been substituted with a traditional stick. The rotary knob is now reserved for mode selection. The steering wheel also receives a makeover.
A near D-shaped, two-spoke design with a glossy center and illuminated Tata logo replaces the older three-spoke variant, adding a premium touch. Seating materials have undergone a significant upgrade, now available in dual-tone finishes with improved stitching and padding for added comfort and style.
Performance-wise, the power output remains largely unchanged, but the torque has been fine-tuned to deliver a smoother driving experience and eliminate sudden surges.
Variant names have also been simplified, with “Medium Range” and “Long Range” replacing the previous “Prime” and “Max.” In terms of range, the Nexon.ev offers 275 km for the Medium Range and 390 km for the Long Range, based on MIDC testing. Under the stricter C75 standard, the range spans 230 km to 300 km. While these figures may not mark a revolutionary leap from the previous model, they signify steady progress in the right direction.

The Tata Nexon.ev is set to compete with the soon-to-launch Hyundai Creta Electric in Nepal.
With larger dimensions, the Creta Electric offers a significantly more spacious cabin compared to the Nexon.ev. However, their performance levels are expected to be similar, as both vehicles feature motors with comparable capacities.
In terms of battery options, the Creta Electric takes the lead, offering a wider range that translates to an extended driving range.
Although the Creta Electric is likely to carry a slightly higher price tag than the Nexon.ev, it justifies the premium with additional features, including a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).
