Xiaomi has finally launched the Redmi Buds 5 in Nepal. It is a budget true wireless earbuds that debuted in China last year and was launched in India in February 2024.

The Redmi Buds 5 price in Nepal is Rs. 4,999. It is available for purchase at Xiaomi-authorized stores across the country.
Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Buds 5 and the Redmi Buds 5 Pro for the global market. However, only the former is available in Nepal.
The Redmi Buds 5 is a successor to the Redmi Buds 4. It brings a larger 12.4mm audio driver, an ANC of up to 46dB with three noise cancellation and three transparency modes.

Redmi Buds 5 Overview
Design
The Redmi Buds 5 comes in a rounded rectangular-shaped case. Interestingly, this time, the case opens like a suitcase revealing the earbuds inside.
The USB-C charging port is on the front of the case. The case has a pulse light made up of five little beads, emitting a soft light. Additionally, the earbuds have shiny decorative strips.

Compared to the Redmi Buds 4, total weight of the earbuds has also been reduced to 42g from 55g. However, each earbud is now slightly heavier at 5.3g, up from 4.5g.
Anyway, the earbuds are still IP54-certified for protection against dust and water. And it features touch controls that allows users to control music playback, change volume, and activate/deactivate noise cancellation.

Features
The Redmi Buds 5 features a larger 12.4mm dynamic driver with titanium-plated diaphragm. The larger driver should provide deeper beats, while the harder diaphragm may produce good treble frequencies.
The Buds 5 also features up to 46dB wide active noise cancellation, which can reduce low-frequency noise like that in an airplane cabin or on the bus.
The earbuds offer three noise cancellation modes: light, balance, and deep. Furthermore, it provides three transparency modes: regular, enhance voice, and enhance ambient sound.
Additionally, the earbuds features in-ear detection and dual connection. The dual-device pairing feature seamlessly connects two devices to switch to answer call while watching movie in your laptop.
Battery and Connectivity
Each earbud comes with a 54mAh battery, while the charging case has a 480mAh battery. According to Xiaomi, the earbud battery can last up to 10 hours on a single charge when the noise cancellation feature is turned off. The battery life can be extended to 40 hours when paired with the charging case, with noise cancellation off. The charging case can be charged via a USB-C port.
The Redmi Buds 5 comes with Bluetooth 5.3 support. Both Android and iOS users have the option to download the Xiaomi Earbuds app from their respective app stores, which allows them to customize noise cancellation settings and touch controls for the Redmi Buds 5.

Furthermore, the Redmi Buds 5 supports Google Fast Pair for one tap connect as soon as you open the flap.
