Oppo A58 with Helio G85 Launched in Nepal

After launching the Oppo A78 4G, Oppo has launched its younger model, the Oppo A58, in Nepal.

The Oppo A58 4G has a Helio G85 chipset, a 50MP main camera, and 33W fast charging support. Let’s see what other features the phone offers.

Oppo A58 Overview

Design

The Oppo A58 has a shimmery and shiny silk-satin texture on the back. There is a pill-shaped design with a glossy finish that expands through the two rear camera rings placed vertically.

The phone is also rated IPX4 for protection against water splashes. The right side of the phone features power and volume buttons. The power button also serves as a fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication.

Similarly, the bottom side of the device houses a 3.5mm headphone jack, primary microphone, USB-C port, and a speaker. The Oppo A58 is available in two colors: glowing black and dazzling green.

Display

The Full HD+ IPS LCD display measures 6.72 inches diagonally. It has a modern punch-hole design cutout for the front camera.

Oppo claims the display has a typical brightness of up to 550 nits and 600 nits under high brightness mode (HBM). Unfortunately, the display is stuck at a standard 60Hz refresh rate.

Hardware

Powering the Oppo A58 4G is a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset, which is built on a 12nm process technology. While it’s a decent budget chipset, the market now offers more capable processors in a comparable price range.

Helio G85 has two Arm Cortex-A75 performance cores clocked at up to 2.0GHz and six Arm Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 1.8GHz. For graphics handling, the SoC includes a Mali-G52 GPU. The processor is paired with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.

Interestingly, the phone offers a stereo speaker setup for better sound experience.

Camera

While there is a dual rear camera setup, the Oppo A58 4G has only one usable main camera with a 50MP sensor and an f/1.8 aperture lens. The other one is a 2MP mono camera sensor that is supposedly used for separating the subject for background blur in portrait mode.

On the front, there is an 8MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture lens. For videos, both the front and back cameras are capable of shooting up to 1080p video at 30fps.

Battery and OS

The battery on the Oppo A58 has a standard 5000mAh capacity. The charging speed is respectable with support for 33W SuperVOOC charging technology.

The smartphone runs on Android 13, out of the box, with ColorOS 13.1 on top.

Oppo A58 price in Nepal is Rs. 24,999 (6/128GB). You can buy it at retail stores across the country.

The Oppo A58 is a budget smartphone with a focus on its design. It is powered by Helio G85 chipset and features an IPS LCD display and 50MP main camera.

It also boasts dual speakers and 33W fast charging support. Unfortunately, the phone lacks an ultrawide camera and a high refresh rate display.
