OnePlus 10T Launched in Nepal with Up to 16GB RAM – A First in the Country

Last year in August, OnePlus introduced its newest smartphone, the OnePlus 10T. And now, the phone is finally available for purchase in Nepal. This is the first phone in Nepal to come with up to 16GB of RAM.

The OnePlus 10T price in Nepal is Rs. 94,999 for the 8/128GB variant and Rs. 1,14,999 for the 16/256GB variant. You can currently buy the 8GB model in the market, while the 16GB model will be available for purchase from January 13, 2023.

OnePlus T models are usually iterations of the company’s previous flagship phones, with updated internal components and a similar design. However, the OnePlus 10T is a unique case, as there was no OnePlus 10 model to serve as its direct predecessor.

While the 10T does offer some improvements over the OnePlus 10 Pro, it also has some features that are not as advanced as those on the 10 Pro, making it difficult to definitively say that it is an overall upgrade.

Anyway, let’s go through the specifications and features of the OnePlus 10T.

OnePlus 10T Overview

Design

The design of the OnePlus 10T looks similar to the OnePlus 10 Pro, but it is not quite as premium. The phone has a large camera island that blends with the back glass, unlike the separate material used on the 10 Pro.

However, the island does not blend as smoothly with the side frame as it does on the 10 Pro. Additionally, the flash ring — which was in the bottom right of the island on the 10 Pro — has been moved to the upper right corner.

The side frame of the OnePlus 10T is made of plastic rather than metal. On the right side of the phone, you’ll find the power button, while the volume buttons are located on the left side. The SIM card tray is located at the bottom. Unfortunately, the phone does not have the company’s signature alert slider.

The OnePlus 10T comes in two color options: Jade Green and Moonstone Black. Both have a glass back, but the Jade Green has a glossy finish while the Moonstone Black has a unique textured finish that is reminiscent of the Sandstone Black from the original OnePlus One. According to OnePlus, the texture of the Moonstone Black was inspired by basalt.

Display

The phone boasts a 6.7-inch 120Hz Full HD+ OLED display with an adaptive refresh rate technology that adjusts automatically between 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz depending on the content being viewed.

However, it should be noted that this technology does not allow the display to go as low as 1Hz, unlike the LTPO panel on the 10 Pro model. The display is also a 10-bit panel, capable of supporting HDR10+. It is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 for added durability.

Hardware

Powering the device is the latest flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. It is an improvement over its predecessor in terms of both performance and efficiency.

Built on a 4 nm process technology, it integrates one Prime Arm Cortex-X2 core at up to 3.2GHz, three performance Arm Cortex-A710 cores at up to 2.5GHz, and four efficient Arm Cortex-A510 cores at up to 1.8GHz.

The chipset is paired with 8GB or 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

Camera

OnePlus 10T has a triple camera setup comprising a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. Unfortunately, the phone does not have a telephoto camera, which the Pro variant offered.

The front has a 16MP selfie camera. The back camera is able to shoot video at up to 4K 60fps, while the front can shoot at up to 1080p at 30fps.

Battery and OS

The phone has a dual-cell 4800 mAh battery. It supports 150W SuperVooc fast charging technology. The phone sadly does not support wireless charging.

In terms of software, the smartphone runs on OxygenOS 13 out of the box based on Android 12.

Last year, OnePlus released the OnePlus 10 Pro without the standard OnePlus 10. The OnePlus 10T is an odd model in the company’s lineup, as it does not have a direct predecessor like most of its “T” models.

The 10T does have a better chipset than the OnePlus 10 Pro, and that too at a cheaper price, but it makes some sacrifices in other aspects, such as the build material, display, and camera. Therefore, it can be considered a toned-down version of the OnePlus 10 Pro.
