CG Motors, the authorized distributor of Ola scooters in Nepal, is planning to introduce its first electric scooter in Nepal.
Ola is a global brand that began as a startup in Bangalore, India.
It is India’s largest mobility platform and one of the largest ride-hailing companies. Interestingly enough, the company is building India’s sportiest electric car and 1GW battery power delivering grid services.
The arrival of Ola scooters in Nepal was a matter of “when” rather than “if”. Despite the many uncertainties, CG Motors is leading the charge for its introduction.
While the details are still scarce at the moment, the arrival is more or less confirmed.
Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro will debut alongside one another at the NADA EV Show 2022. However, we will likely know more about its pricing, launch date, and more at the NADA event.
Ola S1 price in Nepal will likely be above Rs. 3 Lakhs to Rs. 3.50 Lakhs.

Ola S1 Overview
Design
Ola S1 boasts an impressive design.
The front section sports a unique LED Headlamp. It gets a Twin-LED setup with a circular DLR.
The side indicators are LED and integrated within the apron.
The “Fluid Design” theme is inspired by a uni-body styling with prominent creases. And, it creates a beautiful combination of futuristic and minimalistic style.
Moving to the rear profile, the rear tail light is also LED.
The scooter gets mono-colored panels all around. Moreover, the suspension is neatly hidden with a blacked-out cover.
Similarly, the alloy wheels sport a unique design to keep up with aesthetics.

Unlike other scooters, Ola has chosen to keep things simple. Hence, the S1 has garnered a German Design Award in 2020.
Ola S1 has included practical features as well.
It includes a nifty split-type grab rail, flush side step, and sculpted seat.
Additionally, Ola S1 will be available in 5 different colors: White, Mint, Red, Black, and Silver.
Performance
Ola S1 is powered by the 8.5kW Ola Hyperdrive Motor. It generates a peak power of 8.5kW and a peak torque of 58Nm. It can achieve a top speed of 95 Kmph.
S1 includes three modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport.
It gets a 3kWh Hyperdrive Battery with 5 hours average charging time. Furthermore, the full charge should provide a claimed range of 128km.
Moreover, it comes with Ola’s proprietary Battery Management System for optimal durability, performance, range, and safety.
In addition to that, other performance features include Cruise Control, Low Center of Gravity, Reverse Mode, and Hill Hold.

Additional Details
Ola S1 gets 12-inch 110/70-section tyres. It includes a Dual-Disc Braking configuration with Combined Braking System.
The front Single Fork and a rear Mono Shock handle suspension duties.
The dimensions are 1859mm in length, 712mm in width, and 1160mm in height. And, the wheelbase sits at 1359mm.
Ola S1 comes with 165mm of ground clearance. Moreover, the kerb weight is 121kg.
Interestingly enough, S1 also features a 36-liters of under-seat storage.

Unfortunately, there are no confirmed details on its price or availability. However, it is expected to be showcased at the NADA EV Show 2022.

Previously, CG Motors had gotten negative reception over its Neta V pricing. Similarly, there were reports on battery overheating and software issues on Ola scooters.
We will only know more after it officially arrives in Nepal.
