Dongfeng Nammi 06 is coming to Nepal.
MAW Vriddhi, the official distributor of Dongfeng passenger vehicles in Nepal, is preparing to expand its Nammi lineup with the introduction of the all-new Nammi 06.
Following the successful launch of the Nammi 01 in 2024, which gained popularity in the Nepali market for its compact design, capable performance, impressive driving range, and rich feature set, the company now aims to build on that momentum. Today, over 300 units of the Nammi 01 actively operate on Nepali roads.
Riding on the wave of this success, MAW Vriddhi is set to bring in the Nammi 06, which is a compact electric SUV. Like its smaller sibling, the Nammi 06 sits on the Dongfeng Quantum Architecture Platform 3 (also known as the S3 platform), a dedicated EV architecture engineered specifically for small electric vehicles.
In a significant step forward, Dongfeng has developed the Nammi 06’s advanced driver assistance systems in collaboration with DJI, a globally recognized name in the drone industry.

Dongfeng Nammi 06
Design
The Dongfeng Nammi 06 embraces a youthful and angular design language, characterized by sharp geometric lines and bold contours that give it a beautiful visual presence.
At the front, it showcases the familiar closed-off grille typical of modern EVs. The standout feature here is the angular “7”-shaped DRLs that not only add flair to the face but also cleverly wrap around the integrated LED Headlamps.
Complementing this, silver-finished skid plates and functional air intakes aid in cooling the battery system while maintaining a cohesive front-end look.
From the side, the Nammi 06 presents a compact profile, sitting confidently on stylish 17-inch Alloy wheels. As a crossover, it includes standard Roof Rails and a sharply protruding rear spoiler that enhances its sporty appeal.
At the rear, the Pixel Matrix LED Tail lights stretch around the corners, adding a futuristic touch. Despite the bold elements, the rear design remains well-balanced and consistent with the overall theme.
Inside, the Nammi 06 offers a tech-savvy cabin. A 12.8-inch Central Touchscreen handles most vehicle functions, mirroring the setup seen in the Nammi 01. A 8.8-inch Digital Instrument Panel sits behind the two-spoke steering wheel.
Comfort features include Leatherette Upholstery with integrated Heating, Ventilation, and even Massage functions, according to recent reports.
Dongfeng offers the Nammi 06 in six vibrant color choices: White, Silver, Orange, Green, Yellow, and Black.
Performance
The Nammi 06 is powered by a 135 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor that produces a max power of 183.5 PS. While the manufacturer hasn’t officially published the max torque figure, it can be estimated to be around 300 Nm.
This EV offers two battery options, both based on Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) chemistry. The first variant features a 44.94 kWh battery that delivers a CLTC-certified range of 401 km. Using a 3.3 kW AC charger, it takes about 15 hours to fully charge, whereas a 11 kW AC charger cuts the charging time down to just 4 hours and 30 minutes.
The second option is a larger 51.87 kWh battery pack, offering a longer CLTC range of 471 km. Charging it with a 3.3 kW AC charger takes roughly 17 hours, while a 11 kW charger completes the job in about 5 hours.
With a 100 kW (estimated) DC fast charger, the Nammi 06 can charge from 30% to 80% in just 18 minutes.
However, under Nepal’s standard 60 kW DC fast charging infrastructure, this 30% to 80% top-up is expected to take slightly longer, around 20 to 25 minutes depending on conditions.
In terms of speed, the Nammi 06 can reach a top speed of 150 km/h.
Additional Details
The suspension setup is likely the combination of McPherson Strut and Torsion Beam but it is not available officially yet.
The dimensions are 4306 mm in length, 1868 mm in width, and 1645 mm in height. Moreover, the wheelbase is 2715 mm. These dimensions positions the 06 in the compact electric SUV segment, a segment above its smaller sibling.
But, ground clearance is not known as of yet. The kerb weight, however, is 1975 kg.
Also, the Nammi 06 offers a 500-liter of trunk space.

Coming to the competition, the Dongfeng Nammi 06 is expected to challenge BYD Dolphin and Tata Punch EV. To establish a clear reference, we will compare the 06 with the Dolphin.
Over the years, pricing has played a dominant role in shaping this segment, and even with the rise of electric vehicles, it continues to influence buying decisions. While factors like driving range, performance, features, and design now hold importance, price remains a key consideration for most buyers.
In Nepal, the BYD Dolphin has built a strong reputation as a reliable, practical, and well-rounded EV. It has become the go-to choice for many looking for a safe and capable electric SUV.
To compete with such a well-established player, Dongfeng appears to follow a pricing strategy that undercuts market leaders which is a tactic that worked effectively with the Nammi 01.
Although the Dolphin’s popularity gives it strong street presence, this familiarity might push some buyers to seek a fresh alternative that offers more value or novelty. In this context, the Nammi 06 seems well-positioned to attract attention.
That said, it’s still too early to deliver a definitive judgment on the Nammi 06. Many key details are yet to be revealed, and a clearer picture will emerge as more information becomes available.
