Paramount Motors, the authorized distributor of MG vehicles in Nepal, has launched the all-new MG S5 EV to meet the growing demands of the EV market in Nepal.

MG launched the S5 EV in October 2024, catching the international EV market by surprise. The automaker managed to keep the vehicle under wraps, shrouding it in secrecy until its official debut.

Nepal is the first country outside of China to launch the MG S5 EV, which will be available globally starting in April 2025. It is the successor to the highly successful MG ZS EV, which sold over 2500 units in Nepal.

In developing this new model, MG Motors utilizes the advanced research and development expertise of its parent company, SAIC Motors.

The MG 5 EV features several improvements and is built on SAIC’s Modular Scalable Platform (MSP) pure electric architecture, which includes the world’s thinnest battery, measuring just 110 mm.

Design

The MG S5 EV builds on the design philosophy of the ZS EV while offering larger dimensions for a more commanding road presence.

At the front, it features a sleek closed-face design, complemented by slender LED DRLs positioned above LED projector headlamps. Below, a split grille setup functions as an air intake, helping to cool the battery pack.

From the side, the silhouette resembles the ZS EV but appears more cohesive and proportionate.

The wheel size varies by trim, with the Luxury variant riding on 18-inch alloy wheels and the Comfort variant equipped with 17-inch alloys.

At the rear, Y-shaped full-width LED taillights are an upgrade from the ZS EV, while the iconic “MG” badge takes center stage.

Inside, the cabin embraces a minimalistic and modern aesthetic, typical of Chinese EVs.
