Mahindra has finally launched the much-awaited BE 6 in Nepal at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2025. But, while its design has captured attention, the powertrain has sparked mixed reactions among enthusiasts.
Agni Group, the authorized distributor of Mahindra vehicles in Nepal, has officially launched the highly anticipated Mahindra BE 6 in the Nepali EV market. This marks a significant leap forward from Mahindra Nepal’s earlier electric offerings like the e20 and XUV400, with the BE 6 delivering dramatic advancements in R&D, design, performance, and features.
At the core of this evolution lies Mahindra’s new modular electric skateboard platform, the INGLO EV architecture, short for “Indian Global.” Built exclusively for EVs, this architecture integrates advanced LFP batteries, flexible powertrain configurations, optimized vehicle dynamics, and enhanced safety standards that meet both ADAS and G-NCAP requirements. It also incorporates innovative features such as V2L functionality, 5G connectivity, OTA updates, and design expertise from Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (MADE).
While its angular form and bold presence may invite comparisons to the Tesla Cybertruck, the BE 6 confidently asserts its own identity. Its design blends sharp contours with subtle curves, maintaining a boxy yet commanding profile that radiates confidence and individuality.

Mahindra BE 6 Overview
Exterior
The Mahindra BE 6 EV breaks free from conventional EV design, embracing a bold, futuristic, and cyberpunk-inspired aesthetic.
The front is characterized by a sort of aggressive minimalism and a looker persona. The striking C-shaped DRLs house the Projector Headlamps, blending with a glossy piano black element. The Scooped Bonnet and Aerodynamic Ducts channel air efficiently, either directing it outward or utilizing it for cooling. However, the skid plate at the bottom feels slightly out of sync with the overall front design but does complement the rugged nature of the car.
The side profile strikes a perfect balance, with the overall silhouette narrowing towards the rear. In short, that is the coupe-SUV hybrid nature that finds the sweet spot between athletic proportions and utility. The BE 6 rides on 19-inch alloy wheels and stands tall with 200 -ish mm ground clearance. Moreover, the battery pack’s placement offers an even more clearance.
At the rear, the BE 6 exudes a robust and sporty vibe. The functional Split Roof Spoilers enhance aerodynamics, while the C-shaped LED Tail Lights continue the lighting theme. Dual Skid Plates and ample piano black finishes act as connecting elements, rounding off the bold rear design.
Additionally, the BE 6 is available in Red, White, Blue, Orange, Grey, Black exterior colors.

Interior
Interior Inside, the BE 6 prioritizes the driver. The dashboard and center console align perfectly with the driver’s line of sight, ensuring optimal ergonomics.
A 12.3-inch Infotainment System connects with a 12.3-inch Digital Instrument Cluster, featuring an exclusive dynamic interface from Mahindra.
The rotary dial on the center console controls key functions, complemented by a touch start/stop button and a dedicated slot for the redesigned key. Aviation-inspired roof-mounted controls and a thruster-style drive selector elevate the interior’s futuristic appeal.
The seats are a combination of leatherette and fabric seats that provides ventilation support for all the seats. The oval twin-spoke steering wheel integrates toggles for Boost Mode, One-Pedal Driving, Regenerative Braking, and LED branding, further enhancing functionality and style.
A roof-mounted selfie camera adds a modern touch for social media-savvy users. Moreover, the Harman Kardon 16-speaker system with Dolby Atmos ensures an immersive audio experience.
Performance
Mahindra BE 6 is originally available in five variants: Pack One, Pack One Above, Pack Two, Pack Three Select and Pack Three, all of which feature Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery borrowed from the battery kitchen of BYD.
However, in Nepal the BE 6 will only be offered in three variants and those are Pack 1 & Above, Pack 2 and Pack 3 Selection. And all of these variants are powered by a 99 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) that produces a max power of 136 PS and a max torque of 380 Nm.
And, powering it is a 59 kWh LFP Battery Pack which offers a driving range of 557 Km, as per the MIDC Part 1 and Part 2 tests. Using a 11 kW AC charger, it fully charges from 0 to 100% in about 6 hours.
The BE 6 holds the record as the fastest Indian-made electric car, reaching a top speed of 202 km/h, while still being electronically limited for safety. In Nepal, however, it’s reasonable to assume that the speed has been further restricted, as the motor capacity has been significantly reduced.
The drop in motor power is likely done to position the BE 6 in a more affordable price bracket and remain in a favorable tax bracket but, this will inevitably affect its performance.
In India, the BE 6 has showcased its capabilities with drifts and doughnuts, powered by a minimum 170 kW motor and a rear-wheel-drive setup. While the Nepal-spec model retains the RWD configuration, the downgrade to a 99 kW motor noticeably undermines its performance potential.
Additional Details
McPherson Strut i-Link and Five-Link handle the suspension duties.
The dimensions are 4371 mm in length, 1907 mm in width, and 1627 mm in height. And, the wheelbase sits at 2775 mm.
The ground clearance sits at around 207 mm while more astonishingly the ground clearance at the battery pack is kept even higher than the overall average clearance.
The boot space is 455-liter but is expandable with the rear seats folded.

Rivals
With the BE 6, Mahindra Nepal finally has the means to go into the EV battle field of Nepal where rivals like the Tata Curvv.ev, Hyundai Creta Electric.
The Hyundai Creta Electric is essentially an electrified adaptation of its ICE sibling. It adopts a few modern touches but falls short in performance and driving range. While the strong pedigree of the ICE variant works in its favor, the Creta Electric (despite its premium price tag), lacks the revolutionary features needed to truly dominate this segment. Nostalgia may keep it in the game, but it cannot be the sole weapon in such a fierce fight.
Tata’s Curvv.ev, on the other hand, plays its cards more effectively. Its coupe-inspired design, respectable performance, and competitive driving range give it a stronger edge. Tata has slightly reduced motor power here as well, but performance was never its primary claim to fame, so the compromise feels negligible. More importantly, the Curvv.ev sends a clear message about Tata’s vision on its e-mobility push and moving steadily toward that future.
In that light, the BE 6 showcases Mahindra’s evolved R&D strength, appearing well ahead of both Hyundai and Tata in electric vehicle engineering. Mahindra seems to have captured the pulse of the EV market and is charging forward aggressively. However, this momentum does not fully translate to Nepal.
Faced with fears of higher taxes and tighter price controls, Mahindra’s distributor in Nepal has dialed down the motor power and skipped the top variant entirely. That decision feels puzzling. With the EV influx in Nepal reaching unprecedented levels, the competition has never been hotter. In its full form, the BE 6 could have been Mahindra’s statement of dominance in this segment, but they chose not to go all-in. Some might argue that other EVs like the Atto 3 and S5 EV also have reduced motor output, which is true. But in those cases, the trade-off is offset by standout strengths elsewhere.
For the BE 6, performance was its defining trait, paired with a range-anxiety-free drive that could have pushed Mahindra’s EV ambitions even further in the Indian market. Even so, the BE 6 remains a head-turner. Its “Blade Runner”-inspired design, competitive driving range, and feature-rich package make it undeniably desirable. The only lingering frustration is knowing it could have been even more.
